A tip... if you removed the cap & internal hose from he overflow container, be sure it is properly re-installed. Once when I reinstalled mine in an Ody, the hose inside the overflow got bent in a "U" shape and it took me months to figure out why the radiator could be low on coolant while the overflow showed full. I replaced the radiator cap twice thinking that had to be the problem.

Dave another good informative video. The best part is I get the tool buying urge . Seeing as how I have to do some normal routine maintenance on the 07 Odyessey guess I’ll hit your tool store and get some goodies. I also try to use OEM Honda parts. Stay well Artie 🇺🇸

You are my go-to for my Honda Accord 2006 2.4 (I'm in England). Please could you help with a couple of questions? 1) If I want to rev the engine from the hood side, where is the cable for that? 2) I purchased my 2006 Honda Accord in 2022, is there any way I can tell if the Transmission Fluid needs changing? It looks clean to me, a kind of clear red colour (going from memory the last time I looked) but I'm no expert. Many thanks!

Thanks for the video. I have the same engine in my 2004 Element. How often should I replace the radiator hoses? I live in NY.

Interestingly, I noticed that the old factory radiator had 74 tubes vs 79 on the new aftermarket Denso. If I hadn't seen the Honda stamp on the top of the old radiator for myself I'd say it was not an original. Usually I find the opposite...new aftermarket radiators have fewer tubes than the factory originals. Same with condensers which can really screw with AC efficiency. Be careful with cheap aftermarket cooling components.

Thanks.. I never could understand the logic behind the 60-90 second recommended time delay when checking ATF. Do you?

It's so the fluid can drain down. but not too much.

@@markanderson2904 I'd bet that if someone did a test using an electronic dip stick and recorded the level every 10 seconds from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, there wouldn't be much of any difference. Sounds like an interesting experiment.

A bit of a reach, but have you ever had an 8th gen Accord V6 shutt off randonmly while driving, specially when youre coming to a stop? Lol this has been happening to mine. It happens randomly and I cannot get it to repeat itself. When it turns off, the check engine light comes on. But a few minutes later, or by the next day, the check engine light is no longer there. Its not my main car, not even my second, so i'm not in a hurry to fix it. But I would like to slowly figure out what it is.

I would scan it for trouble codes, but you may be seeing the engine light because the engine shut off. Bad PGM-FI relays, cam/crank sensors, or ignition switches are all common issues that can cause a Honda to randomly turn off while running.

The "Phillips" screws are not. They are JIS or Japan Industry Standard. It is well worth it to buy that special screw driver, that will not cam out.
