My cousin has this car, I have a few questions. His car ran okay sometimes would misfire and I noticed some oil started appearing on his spark plugs. He replaced the valve cover gasket, did exactly what you did and when he started up his car it started to smoke white clouds out the exhaust. Any idea why? The smoke smells like oil, doesn’t over heat, somewhat goes away but when you rev it, it comes back. Runs perfect absolutely no issues besides the smoke. Is there something he missed or needs?

Do you use 93 octane? I’ve had my 2021 1.5t for a while now but just started using 93 just to keep it well maintained bc of so many horror stories on this gen….

@ got rid of it last year just a litter after I posted this comment. I started to feel the engine get oddly sluggish. Paranoid from all the KZbin videos I traded it in for a 2023 Subaru wrx. Thanks for the heads up tho! Those things are ticking time bombs even after 20k miles

@@waybach yeah I’ve still got my 18 accord. 1 payment left. It’s drivable but was misfiring again last week. The wrx is a GDI engine as well???

What was the reason to remove it? Working on an issue?

Working on a cold start misfire issue. I took off the valve cover to adjust the valve lash. But that didn’t fix the issue. I think it’s either carbon build up or a leaky injector. Still haven’t fixed it yet.

@BoostedFilms ok, yeah mines is in the shop now they are going to remove the valve cover, basically from a cold start hear like a rattling noise even when giving it gas. It quiets down after it warms up some.

@@BoostedFilms Check your coolant resevoir, if it's low, blown head gasket. Ask me how I know :) I'm replacing the head gasket now. Haven't pulled the head yet, still trying to plan the disassembly. It's way complicated w/all the lines and electrical connections. Shop estimate is 11 hrs, I think more like 40 for a newbie.

@@waybach stealership wanted over 4k. I did it myself for about 400 in gaskets/bolts and about 30hrs labor. Crazy long time since inexperienced and i labled everything.
