OK, as I'm letting this slow cook in my brain today, I realized that this particular part (the bearing), doesn't handle the centrifugal advance for high RPM advance. It handles the low rpm advance like idle and such. This is the tomfoolery that I mention in the video. The weights and springs on the bottom of the distributor shaft are for the high RPM advance. Just make sure the springs are there (one of mine wasn't) and the rubbing surfaces of the weights and armature (?) are clean and silky too. You'll see them when you knock the shaft out the top.

Make sure you are liberal with the WD-40. Can't really use it too much. Now go out there and race some dump trucks...AND WIN this time!!
