Excellent videos you have done, which leads me to asking you about the two identical o-rings you mentioned in part 13 that are no longer manufactured, but you found on Amazon. One is on the axle by the sprocket and the second o-ring that goes into the brake rotor holder. On the assembly drawings this is shown as a 35x1.7mm. For what I have found, no one makes a 1.7mm, so I assume you used the 1.5mm? Also, is the 35mm the OD measurement for Honda? Thanks so much for all the detail work. It has helped me a tremendous amount in bringing up my 1986 200x from high school back up to almost new.

Howdy! Just picked up an 84 200X and am restoring. Your videos are a great instructional tool. You've done some great improv too like the CRF450R rear master cylinder. Where did you find the delron bushings for the swingarm? I didn't see a reference to them in your parts & tools list? Thanks a bunch.

I just ordered Galfer blue F&R lines for my 86 with red fittings and blue banjo bolts. I been wanting these lines since I got my 86, I never thought to get on Galfers website. Kinda makes sense being that they build them to order. A set would pop up on about once a year it seemed and I just never moved fast enough to get them when they would be on eBay. I’m glad I got them from Galfer’s site because I was able to pick the colors of everything. Did you notice a difference in the way the brakes feel between the OEM lines and the Galfer?
@11GalleryATV
@11GalleryATV 3 жыл бұрын
@@ATCREVOLUTION Hells yeah! That was the best part ... getting to build your own colors (I just went traditional). You probably won't notice any difference in braking (unless your stock setup was damaged or something). Aftermarket brake lines are basically just cosmetic, last longer, easier to route, easier to bleed, etc and just plain look badass!
@ATCREVOLUTION
@ATCREVOLUTION 3 жыл бұрын
@@11GalleryATV I think my OEM lines have about had it. The rear is the worst, there’s some minor swelling that just started when I hit the pedal so I should have a little bit better feeling brake pedal with the new lines.

@@ATCREVOLUTION I can tell the difference. They feel more responsive for sure. But, then again, I rebuilt the calipers, put new pads on and a rear rotor also. So it may be a placebo affect but at the end of the day, I'm totally happy with them.

I just put that same exact rear brake caliper assembly on my 86 last night. I thought I was just buying the block of plate for the price so I was surprised when I opened the box. The new caliper bracket did not line up with the brake stay so I just used my OEM bracket to mount the new stuff too. Love the Galfer brake lines, I’ve been waiting for a set to become available to put on mine for months. Maybe I should contact Galfer about some lines? That Chinese caliper assembly works great on mine after swapping over the bracket. I’m going to get a rebuild for the OEM caliper for back up though. I use blue Loc Tite on my axle lock nuts and they still work loose eventually after some hard rides, might be good practice to check them over kinda often. 👍 Sick build man

@@ATCREVOLUTION Rad Mfg had a falling out where one of the employees went rogue and started producing bad parts and not sending thing to people after they had paid. I got my carriers right before that happened but I still never got my my brake caliper holder back or a new one and I had to buy another one to continue my build. You may want to give them a call or email to check on the current status and before you send any money to them.

It’s been a while since I’ve been over here, I apologize for that. I just caught up on this project and it’s coming along VERY nicely man. You do really really good work. I had a few “life situations” happen, but my daughter and I should FINALLY have our projects started soon. Right now we have 3 blasters to build, 2 for my daughter’s XC Racing, and I think I’m going to do a YZ85 blaster hybrid for the 3rd one for my youngest daughter to ride. I also have a 400EX as well that I’m hoping to do a 440 Nationals build with XC suspension, and then I have a Polaris Magnum 4x4 that I’m going to build for my mother as the “ultimate exploration machine”. I had to get rid of my 200X, it was beyond what I’m ready for because the frame was cracked in an odd spot and I didn’t feel comfortable doing a build on something that might be unsafe to ride. BUT, I have a buddy who just so happens to have an ‘86 or ‘87 Tecate 3, I don’t know exactly what year but it has the narrow front end so it’s not an ‘84/‘85. It was his dad’s machine originally and my friend has had it for almost a decade sitting in a shed and it hasn’t moved, I didn’t even know he had it until 2 weeks ago. He offered it to me and said it’s not going anywhere, so whenever I’m ready I’m going to pick that up for a super cool build.
