Thanks so much for this video! We use our Honda Foreman in a very northern location. I'm hoping bringing the battery in our house at night will keep it warm enough to start up easily in the mornings 🤞 we get down to temps between -20°c to -50°c

Hello @ekcolenu. I don't know if bringing the battery in will help ya a ton. My guess is the engine gets very cold, and that makes the oil get thicker when it's colder (think cold honey vs. warm honey). Also when things are cold they contract (balloon in the freezer effect). The cold oil and tighter engine tolerances make the engine harder to crank over when cold. Yes a strong battery & starter can overcome that. If a warm battery doesn't work, try getting a battery tender and leaving it plugged into the battery all the time in the winter so it stays 100% charged all the time. Good luck & keep warm!

While you have the seat off take time to remove the cover with the 4 clip clamps that house the air filter. Over the winter mice chewed up paper and made a nice cozy bed!

What is the "appropriate amount of time" to finish charging the battery with the battery charger as you mentioned? Thank you
@RepairNut Жыл бұрын
When you buy a battery, it will come with an instruction page that should mention how long to charge, or you can look on the battery manufacturers website. If you have a small trickle charger, just let it charge overnight and it will be good. Otherwise 3-4 hours will work.

Bro, my battery’s like seized in there I can’t get it out

Strange it shouldn’t be tight. Is it caked in mud? Or it’s possible it could have swelled up as it failed. Not sure. Put some good ol wd40 on the sides and grip the battery with something, maybe a big c clamp and yank it out.

Battery cable bolts don't reach nuts

Hold the nut up against where the bolt comes through until the threads catch. Or try the bolts and nuts from your old battery which are probably the right size.
