Too cool. I turned 35 next January and the irony is my dad convinced me to pull my old XL70 out from behind his lean-to to get it running for me and my boys lol. Been working on it and watching all your videos just for ideas and getting refamiliar with an old friend that has been parked for 15-20 years now lol. do you have any kind of Facebook group or anything to share some photos with the community?

Great little bike. I have a cousin to that, a CL70 in boxes and missing a lot of parts. Do you know of a reference for interchangeable parts like tank, seat, front end etc? I would like to build a summer grocery getter.

I don’t know if a written reference, but the CL70 has a very similar frame to an S65, S90, c200, c110, etc. They all use the same size rims/tires also, I would think many parts would swap to each model.

Great video you are a great dad your son will love it . Where do you buy your 12v headlight sealbeam for this bike and instrument panel lights bulbs? I'm working on a 68 honda CL90.

I believe the headlight had a replaceable bulb, that we swapped to 12v. I believe you can buy a headlight that uses replaceable bulbs on eBay. All the other bulbs were picked up at my local auto parts store. I took the 6v bulbs down and just matched up similar size 12v versions.

Good content. What do you put in your ultrasonic cleaner? I use carb cleaner but some people use purple power or Lysal.

I bought a gallon bucket of Gunk Carb cleaner. I think you’re supposed to soak your carb in the bucket, but I poured the contents into my ultrasonic.

I know this sounds like a weird question. But can you share some tips for someone who is completely a noob to bike fixing/restoring scene? I think there are a lot of videos online that explain the procedures. But when it comes to the most mundane things such as what tools to use? What do you call these parts? What to use (or not to use) for cleaning the engine parts and such, the info is so lacking that it's hard for a noob like me to jump in.

I’ve made a note to make a future video, touching on the things you mention. My suggestion, find a beater bike that you’re not going to restore, just make a rider out of it. Use that bike for experimenting with different techniques for cleaning, etc. You can’t really hurt these little bikes. Jump in and have fun.

Original c110 was a push rod engine not a ohc . So that engine is newer

You must be new to the channel, everything we build has newer 12v engines. We build bikes to ride!

Uhhh, yeah, it’s a Piranha engine, not a Honda. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yep, custom badges replaced the broken originals. I’m not a Honda purist, no need to be limited by original parts.
