Yes, when it comes to shove, these front ends tend to push a little bit...good front tyres and suspension settings the key!

I've had mine 11 years. Love the grunty motor. Completed the Nc500 route on it April 2019. Did really well but could feel the fully loaded weight going over apple cross pass. Last year bought vfr1200 ...another weighty bike. Weight feels much higher on that so not great at slow speeds but doesn't half go when open her up...much faster than my cb1300. CB is better on B roads...can use power easier.

That sounds SO GOOD! I've also come from a CB400, VFR800, and was looking at a more relaxed cb1300 but got an offer on a bandit 1250 I couldn't refuse. After deleting the secondary butterflies, compensating for fuel, and adding a fork brace I think it'd hold a candle to the CB1300, but it'll never sound as good. Turn 1 at hampton is pretty scary in a car, let alone a bike.. Your braver than I.

Mole Finkle ...glad you enjoyed. I’m primarily an ol GSX 1100 / 1400 fan from way back...love those torquey motors. The CB1300 has similar characteristics and comfort, but handles a bit better at high speed with more mid to mid top end than the 1400. I had the baffle out by the way!

My first bike was the CB 400 Super Four, then after some other bikes among the years (VFR 800 etc) my last one was the CBR 1100 Super Blackbird. Amazing bike. I ordered firstly the CB 1300 and i was ready to buy it but then a friend persuate me to buy the CBR. So i canceled the CB and bought the CBR. I still have a bitter taste because i didnt buy this bike. I hope one day i can manage to buy it as my last bike. Safe rides dudes.

I’ve test ridden modern big sport touring bikes and find i always much prefer the modern retro bikes...accessible, smooth adrenaline hits from 1,200 RPM ...no need to ring its neck to have so much fun at safer speed. they look good too, like a bike should look! My next bike will probably be another CB1300 mint condition, or a GSX1400 or both...which I’ve owned new before. My other fav is the ‘14 black XJR1300 which I ride on Sunday’s. Quite liked the reviews and look of the VFR800 by the way...

New fork oil (and brake pads) Suspension settings to my weight (82kg) Front pre load reasonably stiff slightly improves hard braking. Aftermarket exhaust baffle removed purely for great sound! (Seems to have slightly less torque but bit better mid / top end with baffle removed)

I really love the look of the CB1300S and often dream of having one for touring, while my NC would stay for commuting duty... I see you can go fast with such a big lady, but is it ... well... "much harder?" compared to modern, lighter bikes like a XSR900 or Z900 ?

The CB is a comfy capable tourer and city bike. On the track it still behaves reasonably ok...with lots of ‘man-handling’. But nothing like an XSR900. Heres one I came up behind at 7:08 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZO4cpyerZiCedU we drag raced down the back straight, though to be fair I got a better exit

Quick question. If you were to drive a CB1300, Daytona 675 and a Kawasaki 636 in a straight line from 20 mph to 100, which one would take you there first?

Starting from 20mph in top gear, to 100mph, probably the CB1300 given it’s low rpm grunt. Otherwise the 6speed sports bikes should stomp it home !

Read my post properly...Any big-bore bike can trundle along at 20 mph in top gear no problem. Twist the throttle on a CB1300 at 20mph and it with power away from any small bore sports bike also in top gear. Yes?
