In my opinion, it's a massive keeper the engine the looks and because it's a Honda. Yes, it is heavy and a sod to move around but they are such small quirks that if I had one no way would I get rid of it because in time these Honda's will become one of the most wanted classic bikes around. Hope you are both well and ok.Cheers Matt

classic yes and good for 2 up riding; need tpms, cruise control, traction control, engine tremps and basics that all adv. bikes have; even triumph classics from 6 yrs ago have more features. Lovely but perhaps to keep the real classic feel and look.

Tested the CB1300 some time ago. It's like the Rolls Royce of the biking world. The smoothest, most effortless engine I ever experienced, incredibly comfortable, and more torque and power than you'd ever need on a road bike. What I didn't like was the weight at slow speed and handling the bike when parking or pushing it around with the engine off. If you don't mind the weight then it is still an amazingly impressive bike.

You can get that superb bike to steer well without countersteer, my CB1100 was the same with the preload in the stock position. Your bike is probably sitting a little low at the back due to your weight. Up the preload on the rear to the one off the max position and take it for another ride. If that does not get rid of the need to countersteer drop the preload on the front a couple of rings. Both of these adjustments will shorten the trail and sharpen up the bike. It will take you 5 minutes and you may be very surprised.
@TinsonTour3 жыл бұрын

The GSA is plenty fun, practical bike? don't i need to explain that... cheap to run? actually the GSA has been pretty cheap (yes i said that)... and so on so it's always a no go... Damned ADV!!!! Plus i don't like the idea of not using a bike, i'm a monogamus. But i'm still thinking about it, since i have 65000 KM on the GSA, will not sell it, but like buying somthing to go around town and use the GSA for long trip... so the circle continues! I reckon as the African twin’s riding position tends to put stress & aggravate your back ,you would be best reluctantly parting company with it in early spring .Bikes like big H need regular use ,& while you have the AT & other commitments that’s not likely to realistically happen .If I was in your shoes I would flog both bikes ,in spring when you would be likely to get a decent price .Then I would go for a traditional sports tourer like a FJR / GTR / Honda Pan or similar modern equivalent with touring fairing & screen .I would of suggested fitting panniers & top case on big H ,& keeping her as your main touring bike ,but on a bike as good looking as H ,that would spoil the looks & handling & to be honest a crime .The only down side would be the lack of off road ability of a trad sports tourer bike style .What ever you decide it’s got to be a bike that doesn’t cause you back ache ,you enjoy owning & riding & suits your purpose & life style .👍
