the cotters are Valve Stem keepers that keep the valve stem connected to the valve spring, because it’s the same thing in a car motor, just a little smaller, but does the same exact thing

Could the springs be stretched and heated to red hot and cooled in oil or water to obtain their original strength and length? I was also wondering if newer Honda models may have a similar spring but with a different part number. Might be worth purchasing a couple of different springs for newer models for a comparison.

Just a suggestion for the valve springs, if they are discontinued your only choice is to get the springs from an engine with lower mileage, or have a machine shop create springs for you.
