I have absolutely no desire to buy a large capacity bike. This 300 is just about the perfect weight and size for me. Comparing it to 650 cc and 1000 cc bikes is utterly ridiculous. It's like comparing a featherweight boxer to Mike Tyson.

Hello there, as a knowledgeable suspension setup person, the rear shock does not overload the front. The front fork spring is on the soft side, hence the dive. Especially if you are over the target weight of 70~80kg. It is setup on the soft side for beginner riders. Same as the brakes, they are not grabby for beginner riders. The front tire losing traction has to do with the tire, as it is a commuting tire. Changing to better sports touring tires will fix the traction issue. CB300R, CRF250L, CBR1k owner

I have the 2023. It's very fun for just zipping around country roads in my area. Haven't taken it on the freeway, but I'm sure it would be fine for short stretches. I don't really understand the "beginner bike" classification. It's a small bike, but even seasoned riders can enjoy the small bike experience. I learned to ride on my dad's KZ1000, and most of the fourteen bikes I've owned over the years have been litre-class sport bikes and standards, but for casual, sunny afternoon rides through cow country, I love my little Honda! 👍

@@Frip36I enjoy bikes of all displacements. When you just want a commuter bike and want to save gas and ease of maintenance then lower displacement bikes are perfect for the job. I also don't have an ego to fill so I'm okay with whatever type of bike I ride as long as it's reliable and gets me to the place I want for a reasonable amount of time. I have met somw riders who look down on lower displacement bikes and I observed they have tons of insecurities, one of them is my own brother.

I researched this bike as a light urban runabout, but had to rule it out. The battery is hidden under a shrouded gas tank instead of it being conveniently under the seat. The shrouded design severely cuts into gas capacity. The CB500F has more conventional battery access and a surprisingly large gas tank capacity.

One more pro here, the fuel efficiency. My cb300r has 80mpg and the good body position makes it a good commute bike. My r6 always gets 200F high when red lights on my way to work. The only disadvantage is low power(70mph is PITA to ride on highway) but it conflicts with the fuel efficiency. So, pick the proper one to ride with the purpose. It is a good bike

I got my CB300R in March 2019, now with 10k miles. Still lovin' it. I don't think the fork is too soft and the rear can be set up stiffer with the preload adjuster. The first time I didn't stall, the thing got up to 10mph and I thought I was going to crash, but I hit the brakes, stalled, and dumped it. Success. I rode it three blocks home in first and waited 2 weeks before looking at it again. Kicked myself for spending so much, and finally tried again. I love it, but it's kinda expensive. Love it anyway.

How does the CB300R compare to Kawasaki Z400? Which one is better for beginners? Thanks
@shadow_realm473 жыл бұрын
Cb 300r is lighter/ easier to flick. Z400 might feel slightly cheaper but the engine is atleast a few tiers better. If you plan on doing easy going rides at 135+ kmph speeds eventually, and owning the ride for 3 years or more go for the z400. And if you plan on really sharpening your skills for 2 years at around 95 kmph speeds or less and then moving onto a bigger steed the cb 300r seems reasonable. But you can also look into a CRF 300L Rally instead of a cb300r and then eventually keep both that and get a bigger road biased bike.

I'm undecided between this and the cbr300r as my first bike, currently earning the license nessecary so plenty of research to do. This would be a fun bike to throw around town on my days off but still have the usefulness to let me commute in style. It's a tough one for me.

If you haven't decided I had both at one time and hands-down, the CB300R is way better even though the internals are mostly the same and the CB costs a bit more. It's down to ergonomics, weight savings, and a style that you'd need to be actively trying to get tired of. I have a Tuono and a KLX300SM and my CB still has the most miles on it. Still don't regret buying it, still don't ever think of selling it.

Bro I don’t know what kind of cb300r are you driving, but this Maschine can go up to 150kmh. Even you are doing something wrong or the Maschine you have is broke. Which is very hard to find on a Honda segment. Anyways, the way you are accelerating seems pretty odd. My Grom is faster than that (no modes)

I really like cb300 but z400 blow this and under 400cc the registration and insurance is the same priceso I can’t decide. This is underpowered and I don’t want to go over 400cc 🤷🏻♂️

You dont have Dominar 400 in your country ?😳 In that range i thinks that bike is the best. Its jack of all trades and best value for money (same duke 390 engine)

I think it would be better to compare to other bikes in its class than to compare it to litre BMW bikes.
@KF1 Жыл бұрын
It wasn't a comparison like "these bikes are in the same class and worth comparing" it was rather "there is a noticable difference in throttle smoothness vs more expensive engines/bikes"
@fohz07107 ай бұрын
@KF1 ok man idk what's your definition of comparison but what you just said is exactly that, the problem is comparing a bike that is under 6k to one's over 10k. He sounds spoiled from riding too much big bikes
