HONDA CB350F: TOP END CYLINDER HEAD AND CYLINDER REMOVAL

Blasting apart the top end of this old Honda CB350F for investigation/repairs. Long winded, but I tried to show how to do it all without a ton of fast motion/skipped steps. I am not an expert on these things, so I was learning/figuring it out along the way based on the knowledge I've acquired over the years.

If I remember correctly, they drop down into two grooved detents below the cylinders. It's been a bit for sure. I wish I knew better and could guide you through it more, but it's been a minute...

The Phillips on a lot of these old Japanese bikes are actually J.I.S. (Japanese industrial standard) a normal Phillips is made differently then JIS And tends to strip them out. If you work on a lot of these it’s worthwhile to invest in the proper bits and save yourself some aggravation! Good video, keep up the good work!

@@WrenchingWrecked Buy some JIS screw drivers. Amazon has some reasonably priced. Well worth it.

This is good info. Phillips drivers were apparently designed to "torque out" when too much force is applied to avoid damage to a head from a sloppy work style. JIS drivers have a sharper profile and will stick in the head way better. JIS fasteners have a little dot in the head, which makes em easy to spot, but I use JIS drivers for all cross-form fasteners. Motion Pro makes the bits if you're in the US. They're spendy vs hardware store Phillips bits, but once you go JIS it's that or nothing! And I mean this. Once you're used to using JIS and are forced to use a regular Phillips, especially on a JIS head it's like "What the fu....?!? This is garbage!"
