Honda Cb360 Top Speed Test!!!

I had a 1976 CB360T back in the day (high school). New, this bike would hit 105 mph (with rider tucked in). After a few years of mileage and age, the top speed was reduced to 95 mph. Good gas mileage...I used to get around 55 to 60 mpg, depending on how hard I rode it. I think the bike is beautiful. But, I grew up during the period when this UJM style was all the rage. I have fond memories of this bike, with many miles of good times....

I once owned the CB250G5, new back in 1976. On a good day it would top 82-85mph but that was absolutely thrashing it.

I have this same bike, same color and everything. It doesnt struggle to go 50, 55, 60. It has 6 gears, not 5. It doesn't cough at 60. In this video it displays a common issue among CBs (apparently) which is that the tach doesn't work, but knowing the sound of these bikes you "maxed out" at 74 but you were only giving it 6000rpm. I have hit 70 with no problems only pushing 5800, and these redline at just over 9000rpm, so you had a ways to go before you were maxed out.

I was going to comment the same thing. I have a red '75 CB360, and I hit 70mph easily, at just under 6k RPM. I don't push that much faster, cause the bike is so old and light, I'm afraid to die, lol. But like Justin mentioned, it's still only halfway to the redline, and can prob reach 80-85.

I agree, some TLC and a tune up will take it to 80 plus. My cb175 hits 60 mph at 7k rpm.

i ride my 74 360 all the time. ive gotten that thing to 80 mph no prob and im around 200 lbs. will never go past that because i ride with tube tires lol

I hope you put new tires on that! 33 hp and top speed is 103 mph. Kids these days! Most rock solid dependable bike you will ever ride young one. I could smoke a 750 off the line shifting at 10k only to lose by 4 bike lengths quarter mile. 55 to 60 mpg. 4 hrs was no problem until your feet and hands got buzzed.

Had my '76 CJ360T, unwisely now as I'm thinking back on it, up to 93 mph on a downgrade near the Neshaminy Mall in Cornwells Heights, Pennsylvania, in September 1976. I'd just turned twenty years old and of course I felt immortal.

That bike is pretty slow , I had a 75 cb360t red that was indeed a 6 speed , it had no problems what so ever hitting 80 on flat ground top speed i ever seen on it was 87 down hill an a long stretch of road . Glad you posted this as this bike is antique and so am I lol enjoyed watching it .

Just bought an imported cb360 for £1600 in the UK. The clutch was out of adjustment, so it is in the parts washer right now... Apart from the RD 350s you have not even started on the most wanted bikes... Try Brough Superior, Vincent, Scott, or some of the even rarer makes. Even Honda Cub, Cyclemotors, and NSU Quicklies are fetching high prices.

Back in the day the CB360 was good for a tad over 100mph. If you can hit only 70ish then it needs some attention.

My first motorcycle when I was 17 or 18 yrs old was a CB 360 6 spd. I remember it did over 90 and I remember trying to top 100 unsuccessfully. My friend had one, too, and I could just barely beat him in a drag but we never ran them out together top speed. Mine was candy red and his was bright red. I'm 65 yrs old now and wish I had one again. When you're young you always want bigger & faster. Now that I'm old I would like smaller and more agile. You don't know what you got till it's gone.

That is the "T" model it only had a 5 speed transmission. I had a 74 CB360 with a six speed it would run over 100 mph.

Agreed...you hit that 6th gear on a 360 and you'll fly before you find the top-speed....downhill I had this bike reading 109 mph on the speedo...it started to float and scared the s**t out of me. I was trying for 110 ! That record I set at age 16 is still my PR. I've never recovered from that fear an haven't gone over like 85-90 since.

Had a friend bought a new cb350 in 73 it topped out around a hundred.😎. Also I bought almost new Suzuki gt380 in 75. It topped out around 110. point of the matter. If this bike was properly restored would top out around 100. These motors were easily modified even by novice. But you are right it is worth a thousand.

Age slows everything down. I had the CB250 version from new. That would easily do 80 and given a long enough straight (maybe a little wind help and a gentle downhill stretch) I could see an indicated 100mph. But I guess 74 is good there really for it.

In stock configuration in good tune these bikes could do low 90's. 100-110 mph is pure fantasy. Thats what a Yamaha RD 400 2 stroke did. And that ain't no two stroke!

Shifting it WAY early... . Sounds like 5000 rpm... when it will Rev to 10,500 . Power also picks up noticeable at 6000rpm

Sounds like it's running pretty crappy, maybe on one cylinder. Those bikes new with the right gearing could break 100 maybe 105. Considering a 650 triumph would do about 110, that was pretty damn good. Back then we didn't have 180 horsepower rockets.I broke 100 on my 400 Kawasaki and I'm glad I lived through it .These days I'll be glad to cruise at 55.

Maybe his bike could do 74 mph . But mine can do well over 95 mph . But still a Honda CB350 could do 115 all day long . The CB 360 was detuned over the 350's . Honda added about 10cc but also added counter balancer on the engine to reduce engine vibrations . In a way Honda did the wrong thing with the 360 .

It should have done about 110 mph, but i red line'em right off the get go. The only issue is if it's at all windy at 90 or 100 it would feel like the wheels were off the ground, felt like a bicycle at that speed. Yikes😬

Before I blew mine up It dynoed 122mph in 6th gear. I told the jerks not to put it in 6th and they looked at me like I was stupid. Cant red line the bike in 6th. I dunno how fast it ran the speedo only goes to 110

These bikes will hit 95mph EASILY!!! with my 210 pound ass on it . Ya just have to Rev it to 9000rpm.... not 4500 or 5000 like you were (aka, fix the tach) . Power comes on noticeable above 6000
