Just what I needed to view, got to change my brake lever after a drop and wasn’t sure if I would be capable of doing myself, so thanks I will attempt it myself

Hi mate, Im only half way through and you have saved me a lot of time i looked on rallyraids website and thought the levers were non adjustable i will be giving them a call tomorrow to check if these fit the 2019 model so thanks for taking the time and showing what you did SCOOBS UK .

Thanks for that. Just installed similar levers on my 500x, but I went with flip levers after breaking three clutch levers - simple tip-overs when parked on soft earth off-road.

hi thanks for nice video: i’ve got questions; do they look same length on each side of handle ? Can you still grab them with 4 fingers ? After a few weeks of use, are you still liking new levers ? Cheers
@andrewstewart1066 жыл бұрын
Trekky Delirium the levers look similar but I think one is longer, I couldn't tell you which lever from memory. I can fit 3 fingers comfortably but usually use 2, 4 will not fit with riding gloves. Yes I'm loving the levers. I'll look at doing a video in relation to your question.

Hey, did you find the new clutch lever was pulling the cable a bit tighter, resulting ain a bit of a disengaged clutch? Mine feels it has a freeplay for about a cm but the clutch spring is pulling at this time.
@andrewstewart1065 жыл бұрын
It does feel stiffer but no prob with mine.

Hey man, did you have to tighten the bolt for the little lever that changes numbers? I squeeze mine rapidly and it adjusts the numbers down to 1
@andrewstewart1065 жыл бұрын
Hmm. No I can't say that's happened to mine. I'll keep an eye out though.

@@andrewstewart106 Thanks. Anyn rattles? At 10:40 you mentioned adjusting the free play in the clutch lever. What did you mean?
@andrewstewart1064 жыл бұрын
No rattles. The free play relates to the movement of the lever before engaging the clutch. There should be around 2cm of slack, measured at the lever end, before the lever engages the clutch cable and activates the clutch. Push the lever all the way out to its furthest point from the hand grip, then using a couple of fingers and lightly move the lever towards the grip. You should have around 1-2cm of free play before the lever needs to be pulled to move further. This ensures the clutch cable is not under constant tension.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXWtqoeujZKolcU Just checked the manual for CB500X. 10-20mm free play advised
@@adventurex4883 About the clutch trick, what exactly do you release to get less tension?
@andrewstewart1065 жыл бұрын
@@meirkmv When I say "release" in the video I'm actually removing the ratchet head from where it was perched. I had to put the adjustable levers in position 6, furthest from the bars, to release the ratchet head. It was much tighter than with the original lever. If it still would not release then I would have had to adjust the clutch cable itself. Hope this helps.
@boomblab235 жыл бұрын
You are tightening it too much... Its a 8mm nut...

Clutch lever is too small even though it’s “rated” for a Honda rebel 500. Rattles around like a maraca. Do not buy
