-------------- ----------- Thanks for the vid How To Moto ---------------------- ** note...for those buying the PUIG Brand of these brake or clutch levers....the mounting adapter and the lever come in separate boxes ..NOT assembled together versus what you see in this video. There is a 1/2 inch ish long tiny spring ( found in the black foam center ways near the halfway mark of the sign of the lever in a tiny cut slit..easy to miss) that must be put into the clutch lever at a certain point and you'll be having to be really slow and gentle as you carefully try aligning that spring to fit into the inside " ledge " of the mounting adapter..while holding the brass looking little cylinder that goes inside the mounting adapter...inside it with one finger. Get ready for alitte frustration ...AND for my bike ( cb500x 2019) you will probably prefer to insert some very tiny ( we're talking .0125 inch thick or 0.25 inch thick..unsure) spacer or spacers to ensure when you finally install the clutch or brake lever assembly...that there is no vertical wobble as mine currently has. -_- Seems Puig did not do their 100% due diligence on measuring the thickness/wideness of the mounting adapter for both the brake and clutch lever . ( I have the kind that folds, extends and is adjustable. found here: www.motosport.com/puig-30-clutch-lever-kit?variant[PUI000U]=PUI000U-X001-Y029&variant[PUIA020]=PUIA020-X012-Y002 = clutch lever www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-extendable-foldable-brake-lever-30?sku_id=10029472 = clutch lever which requires ( sold separately at rev zilla ) = >>> www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-brake-lever-mount-honda-2?sku_id=1173065 Hope this helped someone out there. Ok pay close attention! When you install an aftermarket lever you better be careful. It is very easy to not get it right and have a wheel lock up. I have been riding over 50 years and just put some new levers on. The new levers depressed the MC plunger "a few millimeters" too far in the factory setting and resulted in a front wheel lock up in a tight turn and the bike and I went down. The first sign is the engine begins to lug and then the wheel locks. If you make any change to the bike do not assume it will work as advertised. Seriously I had no idea it was coming or that the bike could even do that.
@HalfdeadRider6 жыл бұрын
GraeffenKellerHaus Creative Works LLC, Maybe checking it was not doing so before going out would of saved that, and adjust the lever if needed. Make sure there is a small amount of play before the brakes start to function and that the brake lights come on as they should.

great video! every other how-to that I've seen on this is shot from like 15 feet away. How did these new levers perform? did you notice a difference from stock?
@howtomoto8 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I love the stock levers. The edges on these aftermarket ones are more square and they don't feel as nice, especially when trying to modulate the brakes. The adjustments on these are a gimmick, I have them set to the widest setting and my hands aren't that big. The ones I chose as well are still considered "cheap" ebay levers, so maybe those $200 - $300 (Pazzo, CRG, ASV) ones are actually worth it

Question! Any time when I adjust the position of the lever from the clutch, I notice that the clutch travel gets bigger or smaller. So, when I adjust the lever position, do I have to adjust the ring as well? Thanks
@dantheman48613 жыл бұрын
Yes cuz the ring adjusts the tension on the cable that goes into the lever. When you adjust the position of the lever, the tension can change and so you would need to adjust the ring accordingly.

Can someone please tell me what the red half dial on the brake lever does exactly. I assume it is and adjuster, but is it for firmness, for slack etc?? And more importantly, should I only look for a brake lever that has this adjustment? Thank anyone and everyone in advance
@howtomoto5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, the red adjuster controls distance from the handle bar, so for larger hands you can move the lever away, and for small hands you can move the lever closer. The silver wheel with the slit cut in it, closer to the cable, is the adjuster for slack. I believe one of the only adjusters that has the ability to control "firmness" is the Brembo RCS, otherwise firmness is determined by how well you bleed the brakes, and what the ratio of master cylinder size to brake piston size you have.

@howtomoto4 жыл бұрын
I bought the levers from eBay, I left a link in the description for you. The lever itself is universal, however, the bracket between the lever and the mount is specific to each bike. Always ensure the levers you buy are for your exact bike, some levers are compatible with multiple models but you would have to check the forums or your local mechanic/dealer to see which models.
