Honda's all new naked CB650F is smooth, smooth, smooth! This liquid-cooled 649cc engine is tuned for torque in all gears. How did our guest road tester Brian Diedenhofen fare after a day in the saddle?

A solid, all around bike. I have one and ride thousands of kilometres as a tour leader in Thailand where this bike excels in the corners being stable and predicable. Just adding a 2019 CB500X windscreen for touring in cooler Canadian weather. Great value and great looks!

Interesting about the 500X windscreen. I have the CB650F (2018) and was looking into a windscreen. Several in the aftermarket. Does the 500X screen (I assume OEM) fit easily on the 650F? also, does it work well enough without causing buffeting? Thanks Kev.

I have the 2018 CB650FA. It's a lovely motorcycle. So well built, so smooth, and plenty of usable power throughout the range. Nice flat torque curve.

How comfortable is it to ride
@leightlos4 жыл бұрын
Donnie Simpson Very comfortable. Compared to my little 50cc there is little to no vibration in low speeds and very smooth when riding faster too. The seat is on the softer side but hard enough to get a sporty feel.

Ok cause I have the cb300f and I have had it for a couple of years now and have been thinking about upgrading to the cb650f the 300 is a good bike just close to an hour of rideing it just gets uncomfortable
@generaldistrust3 жыл бұрын
@@donniesimpson4608 well yes, upgrading from a single to one of the most balanced inline four engines on the market will be day and light difference. this is an underrated bike.

Awesome bike, it's a blast. And sounds pretty good stock. Just picked one up a couple weeks ago. I had a GSX-R 750 before this and this feels so much smoother and quicker.
@generaldistrust3 жыл бұрын
yes, they broke away from the usual engine crank configuration, you know, the screaming one, and made it work like two inline 2 engines together, so it purrs and doesn't scresm.. so this way the power is more linear than on screamers in the same size. I love it.

Hey Brian, how do you feel a year later? What year 750 did you have? Between a 2018 cab 650f and a 2018 gsxr 750 what would you choose now and why
@tbb7403 жыл бұрын
@@robertp9370 I don't remember the year of the 750. My bike got stolen though that's how much people liked it I guess. I enjoyed that bike.

How is this bike in terms of passenger comfort? Can two people ride smoothly on relatively long distances? And also, can you fit a storage case large enough for passenger to lean on it?

Your review is selling this bike to me, my local garage has a 2018 version of this. I think i might go for it

Strangely in Europe the CB650F is replaced by the CB650R Neo Sports Cafe. What is there to be all new about the outgoing model ?
@kevinthailand25675 жыл бұрын
It's not outgoing model. Different world regions get limited bikes in the whole series. The 2019 500F and 650F are only in their second year in their current form and not being phased out. Very different bikes the 650R versus the 650F if you happen to ride both as I have

Nice review. Did these bikes have the same engine as the current CB650R models?
@cbk95 Жыл бұрын
Has the same engine with a slightly different fuelling as Euro4 so has better midrange than the R. There's a small dip in the torque curve on the R to meet euro 5

Seat comfort on a scale of 10 after 3 hours of riding??
@motorpolitan88844 жыл бұрын
I've owned this for 2 years now and do many long trips on the stock seat. It definitely gets a bit uncomfortable after 2 hours. However, if you have quick breaks in between, it's not an issue. I recommend getting a thicker seat though.
