It's crazy to me that in the US we can take a 20 question test (no safety class or riding test required) to get a learners permit. You can ride any bike you can afford but you just can't ride at night, with a passenger, or on the interstate. Some kid who has never thrown his leg over a bicycle can be riding an R1 after taking a test that a 3rd grade student could pass after skimming the handbook. Many riders here never get their actual license but just pay 10 dollars every 6 months to renew their permit.

Viewing I traded it in last year after I bought a Yamaha Tracer MT 09. They’re great bikes....especially for touring....not too bad off-road. Downsides are.....they’re a bit sluggish on the road.....very top heavy and expensive to maintain....but there again, aren’t all BMW’s? 😀 Im mainly touring on road these days and at the moment, I can’t see past the Tracer. Far better all rounder. In Europe over the past few years, I’d be cruising at 75mph on the BMW, 85 was a bit much.....but on the Tracer, 95 is no problem. (On the autobahn of course) 🤣

Hello, ur akrapovic the whole system is from titanium ? The pipes will not rust over time? And what's the difference with the other akrapovic for this model with the black end?

No just the muffler is titanium. The headers are stainless steel.

Totally agree, I got this straight after passing my DAS a year ago, think I’ll keep it for a long time! Slipper clutch and quick shifter is awesome. Only downside for me is there is a bit of jerkiness coming fully off and onto the throttle, sometimes it’s jerky powering through a corner if you are accidentally in the fairly large dead zone off throttle :/
@Englishbikerdan4 жыл бұрын
Can't say I experience the throttle jerkiness at all. 🤔

Hello sir. I own a cb650r 2021 model. Im just wondering if its okay to change my stock muffler to akrapovic exhaust that early. My bike is just 700kms ODO. Is it bad for the engine? Thank you sir. Love from the Philippines! 🇵🇭

Won’t hurt it at all. Dealers here sell bikes right off the showroom floor with those modifications made...

I am looking at this as a first bike. I saw one in the market with a slip on exhaust installed, but the garage says that the stock exhaust set up is not available. Will it be illegal to ride? I am just coming off my Ls and don't trust the garage when they say I should be fine.
@Englishbikerdan4 жыл бұрын
There's plenty of legal aftermarket exhausts available for this bike. You'd have to check them model and if it's EC stamped if in Europe.

Hi, what would you recommend as a restricted bike 35kw, mt 07 or the 35kw cb650r my plan is to get the mt 07 because the mt 07 is rapid when restricted to get that for a2 then swap to a full power cb650r when I’ve got my A what would you say? I prefer the looks of the CB and the i4 but I don’t think I’ll get the full enjoyment of it when restricted as I’ve seen vids and people say u can really feel the restrictor on their? What do you think ?
@Englishbikerdan4 жыл бұрын
I've not ridden either of these restricted so I can't really give you an answer I'm afraid. Personally I'd prefer to either get a bike that doesn't need to be restricted or get the bike I really want and derestrict it once the test was passed. That's just what I'd do though.

Hey Dan, I am looking to purchase a CB650R. Found a good deal for a non-ABS model. Rode for a 2-3 years in SoCal and took several years off. Now living here in WA state, I have some concerns about safety and really wanted an ABS model with the traction control. Being that you live in the UK with similar climate, would you say that ABS and TC are a necessity? I'm guessing just by being more mindful of throttle and brake control, one could do without..? And just FYI, i'd be saving 2300 USD for this non-ABS model. I'm thinking it's worth it, what are your thoughts?
@han4coramdeo4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, for the lengthy post. One more question... How intrusive is the ABS and TC in the dry and wet?
@Englishbikerdan4 жыл бұрын
I'd say ABS is pretty useful especially in the wet. I'd live without TC though. Abs isn't intrusive but TC can be a little odd on this bike.
