Very excited about the progress. The frame looks so much nicer without the grime and rust. I like your battery box - pretty clever placement. I'd personally be a little worried about rattling noises and would be interested to hear back from you at some point how the screw-on (vs. welding box to frame) design and battery padding inside the box work with respect to preventing rattles. I'm a little sad that the center/maintenance stand has to go. Theses stands are old school but so darn useful. Can't wait to see the frame come back from powder coating. Keep it up and keep going!

Thanks. vibrations will be ok, it'll be screwed fairly tight with rubber mounts etc to stop vibrations.

Very nice....I like how each bike is different on hiding the battery and electronics to give it a clean look👍

That's a neat little fix for the battery box. Great idea.

I think the look of that battery is a bit of a feature, it's not your usual big grey box. I'd have been curious as to how it would look just strapped to the bike.

So, to change the battery you'll have to remove the exhaust? Also on this spot, isn't the battery somehow exposed to the water, if the road is wet etc.. (bad english, I know!)
@forthebold
@forthebold 5 жыл бұрын
No. The exhaust can stay where it is. Just a screw to expose the battery. Also the battery compartment is water tight and the battery itself can be exposed to water if it ever needed to be. As long as the terminals are covered.

These videos are awesome. What is the box under the tank for? I kept replaying the video but I don't think it was mentioned.

about how much clearance did you leave for wires between the battery and top cover/lid?
@forthebold
@forthebold 4 жыл бұрын
However much you feel comfortable with closing the lid and the wires not touching.

Loving the builds, ( especially the cx500)! Would it be possible for you to do a video on where you buy your parts from? (And what kind of quality they are) It’s hard to gauge quality on websites when you can’t see or feel the items in person. Thanks!

Noice. I'm going to have to fabricate my own battery box for my Triumph Thruxton cause an air box deletion kit is $300 and all it is is a metal box, some hardware (screws, nuts, etc.) And three pod filters. $300!!! I know I can do that all for about $50

Since you are using a lithium battery did you have to modify the charging system? Did you change the rectifier-regulator? If so. What did you use?
@forthebold
@forthebold 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Always change the reg/rec unit. Give Ricks Motorsports Electrics a shout. They’ll sort you out.

Very nice. Its the exact same spot i wanted to put my battery. You saved me a lot of thinking. However one concern, it seems your box is quite lower than the frame. Do you think there will be any issues with ground clearance?
@forthebold
@forthebold 6 жыл бұрын
No issues with this as the oil pan comes below the lowest point of the battery box on the CB750, the exhaust pipe will come to that height too.
