I have a 2011 cbf125, I mostly ride sub 50 mph around town and it's plenty, I always beat cars at the lights, and if you have a long enough road it'll get to around 72 mph. I've had it for around 2 months and I have to admit I want something bigger but only for some more top end grunt, apart from that it's perfect.

Got one now, had one previously for two years. That was reliable, very cheap to run (but services are every 2500 miles) and never did less than 120 mpg. First two tanks while running in gave a genuine 150 mpg. Astounding. But definitely not fast.
@Sup3rSaiy3n9 жыл бұрын
+Gary Bruguier Services every 2,500 miles? That seems odd what was its mileage. Normally you only need a service every 8,000 miles. I would check or change the oil every 3,000-4,000 miles though. Oh no it's not fast it's a 125 but definitely beats most cars off the line.
@garybruguier60099 жыл бұрын
Thats the Honda recommended service interval. There is no oil filter just a gauze screen below the clutch. I did 14000 miles in under two years. I have swapped fast for economical. Works for me at the moment or until i win the Lottery.

These are fantastic 125cc learner legal bikes. Great for starting out. We use a fleet of them for our CBT Centre in Manchester. There is one thing that could be improved and that is the centre stand pummel which is very weak and does snap off easily compared to the Honda CG125cc. Other than that they are great.

I prefer analog, I just feel I can trust physical moving parts than something on a screen, so what the digitals may be more accurate, but it makes no real difference that it's so minor

Yo I'm 16 currently and plan on getting my first bike after my CBT when I'm 17 for my work. I plan on getting a secondhand, 9600 miles, for £1600. Is this is a good deal for a new learner for commuting? If not, could I have more examples?
@Sup3rSaiy3n8 жыл бұрын
Yes that's a good deal. 9,600 miles is nothing and at that price you've saved over £1000 on a new one. 10,000 miles is nothing for a bike. Just keep the chain well lubed and an eye on the oil level and you'll be fine.

+MTP Desantos123 It really depends what you like the look of. Sporty or naked? Honda are very reliable. Yamaha are expensive but you get great parts and are reliable too. Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki offer very good choices in the 125cc category with the exception of Suzuki. KTM have a 125 but BMW do not. Look around see what takes your fancy. Hope that helps.

@antman54747 жыл бұрын
HONDA cbr ...yes, everywhere. I've got a 2009 model that's never left Cornwall so I've had to replace various nuts and bolts and also a couple of small brackets inside the fairing because they quite literally turned to dust. The pedal brackets and footpegs needed an overhaul and the pedal pins needed renewing. Although the brake lever has survived well the gear lever was replaced for cosmetic reasons and rust had completely removed the factory paint from the frame surrounding the airbox and also the lower frame where the centre stand/swingarm mounts/engine mounts etc are located. Corrosion had also turned the lower fork yoke bar fluffy and the engine and throttle body dusty white. Apart from the rear swingarm and rear brake torque tube, which were too far gone to be saved everything else has responded well to two and a half months worth of tear down, sort out and rebuild. It now looks great. The dreaded exhaust rust never really appeared and the wheels just needed a clean up. If you live inland it would take 20+ years to get this bad. So yeah, they rust
