good fuel pressure and volume,spark at the right time, use a timing light,if it flashes coils plug cap ,are all good,compression no restrictions [ air filter-muffler ] if you have a short it will blow a fuse,install a curcit braker that is less amps than the fuse ,then you can look for the problem while it clicks off and on,turn signal relay has worked in a jam,keep your tank full,if using a gas can must be air tight,be spotless clean w gas and oil

if the f1 light is on and stays on and doesnt blink check your engine oil level it has a sensor so the bike wont start

Mike Baldwin the sensor box that is on your front cover, I had the sensor box upside down ( like it was laid down and it won’t start due to safety reasons) I checked and noticed I had it upside down.its been a while but it’s attached to your front cover and I think it’s positioned in the middle where your headlights are

Chances are you did what I did lol. On the “box” it might or should say sensor with a arrow pointing upward. The arrow on mine was facing down, in which I couldn’t start it

My Cbr f2 was running like a dream until it started to get power drained... charged new battery a few times was able to still ride for a bit.. then just got weak.. would run for 5 to 8 min then would fade out.. only giving it throttle would keep it going.. already bought new stator and I need to get new rectifier I believe... but there is some kind of short or something not feeding. Now it won’t start anymore but will turn on fine and crank...

If your stator was dead your battery will be have been killed. Get a new battery as well as your new stator and regulator/rectifier

awesome video. i have an 07 cbr600rr. i changed the fairings and the bike stopped turning over. fuel primes and console lights come on with key turned in ignition. checked the wires for the starter/killswitch and they look ok. jumping the terminals on the starter solenoid can get the bike started, it's just the starter button won't work. any thoughts? thanks!

My buddy has a cbr 1000 only 12k on it, sat for 2 years in a garage with bout half a tank of gas, tried to start and won’t start. I said bad gas. Siphoned out what I could get n filled it up with fresh gas bout a gallon. Now I know there’s still old gas in the lines cause I didn’t get it all, but is there anything else I should know or be aware of? I figured he’d just have to keep trying till the old gas gets pushed through the system. He takes good care of it but just hasn’t rode in forever. It turns over fine just doesn’t start.

Awesome video. Help me solve my issue with mine however the last part about shaking your gas tank well I did that which was the last thing I did and my bike finally turned over however after cleaning it and blah blah blah I didn’t want to turn over anymore. Come to find out it was my feel pump even though you can hear it Prime if you wouldn’t go to the fuel injectors. Swap my fuel pump out yesterday now works like a charm. Thanks!!

I have an 05 r6 that when I twist the key no light come on. Hester while riding it for less than 5 min y completely died. Now when I twist the key it make no noise nor starts. I took off the rectifier thinking that it was faulty since my battery drains every time I ride it. I have checked the battery but it shows 12.5 V. When I took out the r/r I did not remove any other wires. Do u have any suggestions?

I stop get gas and try to turn it back on and it just cranks unless I twist the throttle a little. other then that I'd have to wait like 15 to 20 minutes before I get a decent start.. I changed battery (new gel), changed the stator (oem) 1000 miles ago, changed rectifier last week, changed spark plugs 200 miles ago, took out h.i.d's (Google said that could affect it), threw gas cleaner in it thought maybe I caught bad gas but still the same thing any help?

Hey until you got your bike to start up did your fuel pump prime. The other day my bike turned on for three seconds and died immediately. I noticed afterwards when I tried to restart it the fuel pump did not prime.

When you say 87 fuel, And you use 91, Is that the RON of the petrol ( USA Gas ) ? Because if that is either then they are both low octane, I know lowering the octane can help vehicles run on low quality or degraded fuel, Is that why ?

+SUPERKITTY9000 Well, I am surprised at the low octane fuel in the USA, I have had a look at the basis of modern motorcycle fuel related electrics, ( Capacitor distribution ignition, Pulse transformers etc,, ) And it seems the manufacturers set them up based on fuel quality around the world, I think it`s to do with advancing or retarding the ignition of the CDI, In the UK, With a UK model HONDA FireBlade, If you put that USA low octane petrol in the tank you would not pull out of the gas station, ( Minimum 97 RON ) Repeated exposure to low octane mixed fuel would apparently harm the valves eventually, I know gas is relatively cheaper in America, But I did not realise it was equal in production quality with that of the third world !

I had a similar problem it wasn't a bad ignition switch it was a bad transponder in the key. The bike would start in the morning but if I left it in the sun the fuel pump wouldn't prime. New key did the trick.
