Completely neutered. Bren Tuning just finished their reflash (against huge obstacles) and got 200hp on a 171hp baseline. Honda’s keeping all the horses in the stall.

Finally an accurate Dyno my bike after bren tune with stock exhaust and air filter etc. made 187.5 That was a 20 wheel horsepower gain overstock

Emissions is really screwing these machines over hard, the governor kicks in so early and stops it from making any noticeable power after 12k. Would love to see an unrestricted comparison afterward.

We’ve gotten numb to dyno #’s, look at the peak, then look @ comments. 140HP @ the crank used to be insane, now 165 @ the wheel & complaints still exist. Less than 10% of buyers will ever see this bikes true limits, impossible to get near it on street, enjoy these times; there r soo many awesome bikes out there! I’ll take 1 of all

I think criticizing is valid when the company claims 214 horsepower at the crank. And it's also valid when competitors are making 190+ at the wheel.

FastBike magazine measured 195hp at crank at 13700rpm, 10hp less then RSV4 1100 and S1000RR. Honda claims 186hp for US model, so 166hp at rear wheel +18hp for typical transmission =183hp at crank is OK.

California sells 91 octane and you can make decent power with that. This bike is making so little power because the ecu is very restricted.

@@tumdeax Do you live in the U.S? You need to get out more. I fill up my car and motorcycle with ethanol-free gasoline almost every time. Download an app called “Pure Gas”. It will tell you where the ethanol-free locations are.

I’ve often seen passenger pegs on what would seem “inappropriate” motorcycles. I wonder if it has anything to do with how the bike is “classified” for the home market (?) Does it somehow effect import or insurance regulations? Good question for the manufacturers 😉.

What's weird is it seemed to take off at just after 5k but their is a torque drop just after 5k but at 6k the HP seems to take off.

... with a small slope, because rpms are going up. When torque goes up again, hp slope increases.

It’s simple all the emissions control from the EPA and California clean idle chokes out these motors so they can’t breathe, so when you adjust the engine governor and put aftermarket pipes like the yoshimura (which sounds incredible on these 1000 Honda’s Yamahas and Suzukis) it will make more power because the bike can then breathe and sound good as hell.

Ignore the reply from Harry. The correct answer is that the performance number you get from the official spec sheets is horse power and torque measured on the crank. Here you see the (real life) powers as they are transferred to the wheel and tyres (usually around 5%-10% loss in drivetrain and much more in a car)

I have noticed that literally every bike on this channel is underpowered somehow. I used to watch dyno videos of enduro bikes and they had ridiculously low numbers, but always on other channels the horsepower figures are much higher. I think their dyno is just fucked up.

@@siegfriedz8211 Both answers are correct but the chokes out Harry mentioned is the ECU partially closing down the throttle blades at high rpm (starting at 12,000 where you see the power and torq falling off on the graph)...

What’s really a shame is how expensive it’ll be (possibly illegal) to just buy an European spec version and bring it over to the states instead of buying this diluted version they trying to sell here, not that you will really need the extra 25-30hp but it just feels wrong paying full price for half the product🤷🏾‍♂️

Just so what we’ve all been doing for years- get a flash for a couple hundred bucks and you get all that power and more. You wouldn’t need the entire ecu. Last generation bike jumped almost 20hp in the same way.

Hits Vtec around 7.5 or 8. I guarantee you with a full exhaust and one of those fancy filters that Chris Moore uses, he can get 185 out of one of these, maybe even 190. And THAT'S playing with the big boys in terms of power (GSXR and ZX10) PLUS it seems to still have that Honda torque.

There are different ecu for US vs Euro and for whatever reason the euro keeps pulling. Makes about 20 more hp. Apparently us restrictions are worse than euro5.

Bugger all below 8,000 rpm. Honda has significantly changed the blade. I guess they want to win races at the expense of “real world conditions”... Where the blades of old (that weren’t “race bikes”) just pulled from low and just kept climbing (with a nice flat torque curve). 👍😎🇦🇺

Rrr is different from rr. Rrr wsbk homologation special sales. Not a rr blade replacement, new rr is in the works.

@@pravesh736 Yes. But it is still different to the outgoing model and much different to what the original design spec and requirements were. A light weight, highly powerful (usable) road bike that was better than all of the WSB bikes at the time of launch! Better than Honda’s own homologated WSB bike!

So what's the lightest fuel injected fireblade that can get me 150-160 with full exhaust, filter/airbox mod, and a dyno tune (reflash/remap)? I know brakes on any literbike will be good, so, I'm not worried about brakes and suspension. Besides, if need be, any of those can be changed.

All these big 200 plus HP numbers claimed by the factories are usually BS. Even factoring in the 10-15% drive train loses they are way off. My 2020 super duke r claims 180hp but puts down 170 to the wheel.

They cripple the shit outta this bike to comply with US emission standards, there’s no ECU flash available for this bike as of yet but it’s only a matter of time, once properly flashed this new engine is definitely capable of 200+ bhp with a full exhaust system (although stock one is great)

@@mociczyczki This bike doe's put 203whp anywhere, not in US, not in EU, not on Mars. Honda cannot and will never produce an inline4 bike that puts out 200hp at the wheel and doesn't explode after two laps. Panigale V4S hardly puts out 200hp at the wheel and that's a race machine. Inline4 with spring valves is a weak engine. This fireblade puts out its real world hp.

BMW’s are the same way. Much better in Euro tune. Huge flat spot in the US version. Spend 20k + on a bike then void your warranty to make it perform like it should.

This bike is at least 50whp down on power compared to V4S and that makes you wonder how is it that the underpowered inline4s in WSBK can compete with V4s and even win, it makes you wonder how...... Just look how rough the gear change is and Honda asks almost the same price as V4s is sold for. Verdict? yet another crappy inline4 good only for loud pipes to do rev bombing.

@@marinosg15 There is no way in hell this can put out 202hp at the wheel. Those numbers are just marketing gimmicks.202 at the wheel you are talking about 220hp. Panigale V4s hardly make that kind of power. Japanese are very good at advertising and giving you all kinds of numbers. This bike in the most optimistic situation pits out 185hp at the wheel and that provided the bike makes really 200+hp at the crank. There is not a single inline4 bike can put out 200 wheel horsepower. That's motogp territory 😅 If this inline4 screamer could put out that much power, nobody would be able yo ride it. I don't believe any of that marketing crap. 202hp at the wheel is nothing more than pure fantasy 😅

What we see here is about the right number an inline4 puts out without blowing up. 😅 CBR puts out max 180-185whp. Then again Japanese bike fanboys live in fantasy land.

Japanese bike makers sell bikes with the help of KZbinrs and journalist instead of real R&D and Honda is no exception. They realised long time ago how important it is to convince the fanboys through advertising instead of spending money on real R&D.
