In reference to a comment made between time stamp 7:00-7:05 I get the technical sentiment of having electronic input on a riders efforts but the greatest challenge to ones skill is to go full manual without electronic input, it shouldn't be an issue that you "don't like", rather, your inability to handle the bike without electronic input should be considered an exposure of weaknesses in your riding ability that can be improved on. What I am told is there will be 48 coming to the US in June and possibly another 48 late year November timeframe. Only tier 1 Honda dealers and not all of them are even getting an allocation. I am in Denver, Colorado and the only tir 1 dealer on the front range here is talking about marking up the price $10,000 if the market will bear it. Not sure what Honda is thinking on this one but it looks like I’ll be going a different direction unfortunately.
@booger65man4 жыл бұрын
@mafic 09 Peak Honda... I was very surprised when I was told about their "market adjustment". In addition most every dealer on the front range add ~$300 on top of the price of the bike for dealer charges. This dealer adds $1300. I had never dealt with them before and doubt I will be going forward. Very unfortunate as they appear to be the only dealer who is getting one and apparently plan on gouging the buyer as much as they can knowing that. Not a good look for Honda Corporate that their dealers behave this way. Rant off...

My biggest concern. Have they finally moved away from Alusil on the cylinder walls? That literally is what plagued them to no end on the previous model CBR'S and from someone who had 2 2012 CBR 1000 engines blow, it concerns me. The Alusil cylinder walls are weak compared to the Kawasaki's which are coated with electrofusion and having 1st hand experience with both engines; it's a huge difference. After 27k miles on my ZX10R, cylinder bores look great after tear down inspection. On my CBR, after 10k miles, the cylinder walls were scored and the cylinder was scrapped due to extreme amounts of wear. The DLC coating sounds nice, but really after hard miles will it last?

Honestly, although I like this bike I feel it's too much power for the road. I would much prefer a 600cc bike with reasonable amount of power like 150hp than this monster. I wish they updated the CBR600R and updated it with electronics and a digital dash like the one the 1000RR has now. They obviously have the tech, they just need to redesign the exterior and add that digital dash. I think they're not taking advantage at this point. The reason not many people are buying 600c bikes is because they haven't been updated in years, they've been stuck in the early 2000's for years not and that area has gotten boring.
