Yes, I know. This isn't the typical product I'd feature on my channel. But 2021 is right around the corner and I'd thought I'd introduce you to what will be the next stage to my channel. I know motorcyclists and car enthusiasts have a lot of common interest but are often in two distinctive groups. So my goal for making motorbikes videos on a car based channel is to introduce car buyers to a new world and hopefully spark just a bit of interest to this alternative form of transportation. Thank you, I wish you a happy new year and that 2021 is everything you hope it to be

Good for you! I rode a CBR 600RR in this exact color scheme for 5 years. Wasn't my first bike, 250-500 is the way to go. Take it slow and steady and enjoy the learning process. Just my 2 cents since you're starting out: 1. ATGATT 2. Look where you want to go 3. Always ride as though everyone is out there to get you!

Been looking at buying one of these as my first bike. A local dealer has a used one in the same color for $5,000 that I’ve been eyeing, but it doesn’t help that I still need to take the motorcycle safety course and we just got 8 inches of snow

Will likely sell this bike for around that money when I want to replace it. Isn't perfect, previous owner dropped it

@@maxlandireviews yeah once I get more experience riding I’d want to get something pristine. I’m looking at used currently just so I wouldn’t feel as bad if I did drop it as a rookie

I thought I recognized those mountains and confirmed once I saw the license plate ;) Really nice rolling shots as well! I don't own my CBR500r anymore (same one as yours but red) but might consider the CB500X in the future to visit those same mountains!

Love the idea of you doing motorcycle reviews. As others have mentioned, I was surprised by the stated weight of the Honda. Given your height, I was surprised it fit you so well. My 1st motorcycle was a parallel twin and at 800cc was a nice rush of torque. Being the hard-head that I am, I disregarded all the advice from my riding instructor and ordered my 1st bike brand new and had it delivered directly into my garage (too nervous to ride it home). Look forward to more reviews.

Nice motorcycle! Glad you are enjoying it. Honda always makes a solid and reliable bike in my opinion. The only few things I don’t like about Honda is they are rather expensive compared to the other Japanese brands. Might as well go with a European brand. The CBR500 kind of heavy. I wish Honda had a full color TFT for their prices. Even the CBR650 doesn’t have it and it’s pushing $10K in the US. That being said... it’s still a nice bike and I’m just nitpicking. The pros outweigh the cons. Happy riding!

With 37 yrs on the saddle I find this to be a great overall bike begginer or not. Loose the exhaust, get a Corbin seat. This is probably the best color combo Honda has produced for this bike.

You made great points! I think a beginner rider who is looking at this bike might get more value from getting frame sliders and other protective ad ons over a slipper exhaust. Like you said, you can only expect so much from the configuration of this engine. Slip-on exhausts for 3, 4 cylinders or v-twins.... Now that's a reasonable upgrade.

Have the exact same bike, love it down to earth, I ride it to work everyday. Best bike imo for beginners. Although you will grow out of it quick. It took me about a month and I felt the need of more speed and torque. Put on a Coffman slip on exhaust if you are looking for a cheap exhaust with some good sound. If you have the money and you are willing to be a careful rider as a beginner, by all means get a toy that is either 650 or higher since you'll get used to the bike in about a month

I'll have a look at that exhaust system, keen to replace the standard system as it was scratched up by the previous owner
@toldenfr
@toldenfr 3 жыл бұрын
the biggest problem with the seat is you are too tall to ride this bike. Also your weight is to high too. This bike is designed for standard guy like 5'11 70-80kg... not for a giant.

The 5000 rpm vibration I think is built in to Honda's. My cbr1000rr had it as well, but it went away at about 10000 rpm I think, but maybe I was just outrunning the vibrations.

500cc 200kilogram bike is not a sport bike for beginner. what if this is a beginner bike then what 150 , 250cc bike made for ? why is there moto3 competition they are reving in 250cc bike. cbr500r is a middle class bike. 100cc - 1000cc average bike so 500 is middle ... and 200kgs is not considered sporty for the hp it provides. as well as the engine character. the red line limite here is 8500rpm. that is before those 4cyclinders start their work... you will be wrong if you look for a sport bike from cbr500r. it is a sport touring city bike. look at at foot pegs height, anti squa amount , seat height , handle bar height they all compromised for city communicate use. they R3 , ninja400 all sport touring riding position. but they have higher rev which is more to the actual sport world. and the weight. the closest sporty bike in this class is ktm rc390. thoug it lacks high rev but limit on higher speed rev control

You sound like you know what you’re talking about. So what should I get as a beginner? But I don’t want a bike that is too beginner, like I heard people grow out of slower bikes so I’d like a bike that is easy to ride as a beginner but also good for when I become better at riding and am ready for a stronger/faster bike.
