I had one of these back in the day. Lovely bike and very forgiving. You can lose your license on this thing as it sounds great and wants to go fast! I was told if Iyou drop it on the left side it could damage the engine block.
@MrEnglishman6969
@MrEnglishman6969 Жыл бұрын
Yes if the drop on the left and hit the stator cover it can crack the main engine casing. And it’s quite common for it to happen even if just falling off the side stand. I have seen it at least 10 times over the years

😅My knees hurt on most sports bikes, the bmw 1000rr is ridiculous. Im looking at getting an older blade to go with my 1999 zx9r. The zx is so comfy and roomy ive been all over on it and used it for everything. I did mod the pegs 30mm lower and farther back as i got into my 50s just to save my knees, but its great now. One thing that annoys me is they fit those stupid short exhaust cans that sap the mid range. Great reviews, thanks 😊👍👍

@@vainparasite this blade is brilliant for long distance on the knees. Like you my knees are fucked . I had the 954 and after 100 miles my knees were killing me. The 929 has a much better riding position. I often did full days riding on the 929 with not much problems at all.

@MrEnglishman6969 has it really? It's definitely on my list for next year. With any luck I'll get my licence back in April as long as I stay seizure free 🤞😊👍 it's a pain in the backside when you get older and you have to check you fit on bikes 😂. I've been all over Europe on my zx9r, the first day we covered 435 miles with only stops for fuel. My friend on his new R1 was in agony 😂 and I felt as good as when I started out 😊 I honestly don't see the point in making road bikes so extreme, fair enough for race tracks but they usually fit rearsets anyway. They do make sports bikes torture for the average rider. The designers must think there aren't any traffic jams or lights to get caught up with on normal roads 😂😂👍👍

@@vainparasite 56 myself and often do 500 mikes a day in summer all round the NC500 as I moved to Scotland. I have switched to up right sports bikes now. I have a 2015 naked z1000 a street triple 675r and I still have a 929 in the garage. For me the up right sports bikes are a game changer. Take a look at the fz1 naked bike . It’s an R1 with straight bars. One of the best bikes I have had for handling and speed on an up right bike. Just stay away from the 2006/7 as they had fueling problems they sorted it from 2008 up wards. Cracking bikes or even the fz8 naked again cracking bikes to ride. But I really did like the fz1 I had 3 of them over the years. I have had most bikes at one point or another. But if sticking to race bikes the 929 has a really good riding position. I often did 300 miles a day and sometimes the odd 500 miles

I heard from a few reviews that the throttle response is quite snatchy, as first gen fuel injection model from Honda, is that true? I am trying to lay my hands on one of these, comments also say it can be improved by power commander tho, so I am more on curious side, going to get one either way

@MrEnglishman6969

@@JeepsCafe main thing is hoping hoping the mileage is right. What you find is with the older bikes. People change the clocks ride all summer then put the old clocks back on for mot . Keeps mileage down. You find them bikes have only done around 200 mikes a year ? History will back it up but it’s had different clocks on all year. As for the bikes faults. If it’s been looked after and serviced every year you should not really have any problems. Main thing to check is when riding put bike in second and roll on and off right up to 10.000 RPMs and see if it jumps out of gear. Do same in 4th gear. If it jumps out gear box is on its way out. The other thing to look for is on the stator cover side ( left) check under the stator cover lowest bolts that hold it to the engine and check the main engine lump is not cracked. The bike only has to fall off the stand and it can crack the main lump. Check the inside of the tank first rust, very common on bikes today thanks to the shit fuel. If tank not kept full over winter it will rust. Check the F1 light gos out on the clocks after 5 seconds

If you are looking for a bargain go to eBay and buy this one item number 226096394862. It’s worth £4000 all day long and I think you will get it under 3k . I know that bike as I sold it 5 years ago out of my collection for £4500. It’s been in his collection all this time and only done 500 or so miles. I owned that for 6 years and only rode it twice a year as it was in my person collection. Who ever buys that bike has got a bargain. Market is flat at the moment. He started price at £4250 hand has dropped it 3 times now , he must be short on money or just needs it home because if it was mine it would not be going for any less than 4K it’s a cracking bike.

Raced it for two years, race farings etc etc. Serviced myself regularly. Bomb proof...only ever needed a rewound stater & wearable parts. Nothing else. Utterly fantastic bike.

OK 929 COMRADES,- let's cultivate by poole-sharing some skills! After all, the number '929' is an 'angelic' number much talked about in many ancient religious and Pagan texts and teachings which say the number will become significant and constantly heard, seen and mentioned in the life of a person "helped by communication" FROM ANGELS making speedy change and development towards a good or social goal. Mmm!--Sounds like me but the Honda Fireblade owners manual doesn't mention it,--but oh well, my Slavic friend says he can agree with 'every single word' Mr English says!
