I bought my 2001 929 in 2001 and today has 26,000 miles. Just recently put on new chain and sprockets, integrated tail light with signals and wing mirrors. Starts right up every spring and haven't had any issues. Love the bike and still riding her at my age.

I'm guessing you'll never let it go 😆 Being on a cbr600rr and the cbr1000rr. The 929 feels the most balanced. This is one of my favorite bikes of all times.

Are you still alive? Helmet, riding boots, gloves with sliders are a must. Be careful! Not the best bike to begin with.

I still have my yellow and black cbr929, and yes it is a 2000. In 2001 they came out with the 954.

Always like the 929 and been thinking about getting one for a winter project. Currently on a FZ09. I know the CBR has a lot more hp, but I'm curious how the bottom end power is.

It's not bad but I think the fz09 has a better low end torque. Just like most fairing sport bikes. You have to get it up in the rpms to get the power.

I have a yellow 2000, it got about 60000km on the clock. I'm wondering what I can do to give the engine a refresh without getting too technical and tools intensive. chain tensioner? new sparks? and what else?

I was just curious. The one I owned had one. I did change the chain and sprocket. That helped it feel pretty responsive.

It's a honda! Thats around how many miles I had on my mine. It really depends on how the previous owner took car of it. Personally I would stay away from anything over 60k. Mine had about 45k and its still running strong 💪
