The only reason Civic is getting so much attention here is because of the legacy. Remove the badge and it does not justify the price in this segment AT ALL. Further, the new Civic was originally launched like two years ago. It’s disappointing that two years after, Honda came up with such a mediocre Civic in Indian market. That 1.8L engine is a huge let down given Honda has a new 1.5 L turbo employed in Civics overseas. 1.8L is such a dud. Considering the recent trend Honda has adopted for Indian market, it does not look really promising Honda to hold the benchmark in its segment. It happened with City, it happened with the new CR-V (omg, it’s such a underrated and highly detuned in every area to cut the cost and yet is over-premium) and it has happened with the new Civic as well. Do not be surprised if Honda brings another Lemon to Indian market - The all new Accord!!

If you want a comfortable car with a smooth driving experience and daily usage is less than 50km, you may go for Honda Civic. On the other hand, if you want better power and often tackle bad road conditions, you may go for Tata Harrier. Do take a test drive before the final cal.

It would be unfair to give a verdict here as the resale value of any vehicle would depend on certain factors such as the physical condition, kilometres driven, the number of owners, engine's health, etc. Moreover, if you are getting a good deal then you may go for the used 2019 model Civic or you may purchase a new Honda City.

I drove the civic automatic recently , one of the lowest performing cars in automatic even a segment below vento and Verna drive much much better jus the gears hold well and give good fuel economy , just good looks and features also not many at this price point as compared to Octavia
