"Beautiful 03' Civic for sale. Clean car, low milage the only issue is it has an engine light on, but I think it just needs an o2 sensor. Cheap fix, and maybe the tires could use some more tread they are getting a little low. Oh, and it has a thumping sound, but it's just supposed to do that. That windshield crack was probably made by some rich dude so it's probably worth something. Great car, diamond in the rut. Rebuilt title.

You didn't throw two rods you destroyed the connecting rod bearings that's what's tapping! You didn't break off the valves because it's an interference engine meaning if the timing to gets to far off you risk piston to valve contact and that will always lockup an engine on the spot!

I never thought I'd see the day a Honda engine blew. I racked up 500k in a old 02 odyssey and the damn thing still ran like new. Everything else fell apart. Same goes for my old Civic. Racked it up to 400k until I sold it for scrap because once agian, everything else needed replacing besides the motor. I tortured the motors in them to. By far the strongest engines I've ever seen built would have to be a Honda. and Sunfires.

back in the day my d16y8 had a rod knocking, I drove it at 70mph for about 40 minutes on my way to the engine swap shop. Ended up bending every valve and sent a connecting rod to the international space station. I was surprised it went that long. The car did not have a tachometer so Id let the rev limiter tell me when to shift. Worked for 4 months until the engine blew up. Good times.

when you spill oil you put cat litter on it to absorb it for over night, i once spilt like 3 quarts of oil on my driveway and cat litter took it all out.

A car with a blown engine can go pretty far. My car went like 20 miles with a blown engine. At first i was hesitant, but i'm like what's the worst that could happen. I mean a year later my turbo went on my AUDI lol, but whatever... I learned my lesson. My next cars where brand new cars.. no more used vehicles.

Dear viewers and pissed off honda enthusiasts, I had fixed the car one week after this happened! it is still very much alive as seen in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6SvhWaopLWpZ7s it was not scrapped or left for dead I dont have the faint of heart to do that. its a very good car and has no problems now except the manual window regulators which are getting fixed aswell as the rust problems. It will be back to its former glory soon enough. It currently has 199k on the current engine now and is running great.
