when removing this radio the green plug is the factory alarm keyless plug that renders through the radio when removing the radio or replacing the radio the factory keyless will no longer work unless you relocate the factory radio to the glove box also the factory dome light will no longer work as well that can however be jumped out at the green radio plug by jumping ltgreen/black and ltgreen/red wires together

the next one i get i will make a video but its a rare car that passes through my shop again, the dome light is simple, the green plug you just tie those two wires together as far as the factory keyless, its kind of a custom job, you need a harness from metra called a 70-1720T that allows power to be retained on the radio while providing power to the new radio, then its just a matter of finding somewhere to hide the factory radio, normally i remove the glovebox completely and extend the wires and move some wires out of the way and it fits fine ... a cheaper alternative would just be a new alarm as the door lock triggers are standard negative triggers in driver kick

thanks for the video. I'm replacing a factory am/fm on a 1997 Civic with a Pioneer that has a CD player. Before removing panels, check to see if you can pull it out. Maybe the previous owner of mine did something, but I was able to get my fingers around it and simply pull it out, so I could disconnect the cable and antenna. The hard part is going to be figuring out how to install the newer Pioneer that has a non-compatible plug...

Do you know how frustrating it is to spend an hour fighting stubborn old screws and clips, taking these panels out, then discovering it's impossible to remove my radio from back there? The actual removal took about 2 minutes once I realized how to do it. Then another hour putting these freaking panels back on. Taking out the radio on my 97 civic just required releasing two clips on the sides by sliding skinny flathead screwdrivers between the radio and the outer metal casing (after taking off the little plastic bigger thingy). Then just pull.

had my car stereo stolen after i bought the car, luckily the stereo was not fixed in place with screws. was thinking maybe that was a good thing, otherwise the thieves would have jacked up the console just to get it out.

I was able to easily remove all of the screws EXCEPT for the screw above the gas pedal, next to the driver's right leg (2:40). I have tried pushing from behind and unscrewing but it just turns and turns. Anyone else have this problem with this screw? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

To all of those who are cussing at the hazard switch plug....squeeze it on the bottom where the blue and white plug connects together. The white plug slides right off.......what a bi#$ch that was to figure out.
