Any help would be appreciated if you can give tips on getting the two bolts off in the front (I snapped one already) and the three bolts in the back. Or maybe a video on how you drilled them out?
@justthetipgarage53052 жыл бұрын
2 bolts in the front snapped all I cut them off with an angle grinder and then hit them out with a punch. The three in the back I had one snap and the other two came off. Basically assume you’ll have to use new bolts for it all.

the original pipe comes with 3 heat sinks, but, no heat sinks with the new pipe. is it safe? the driveshaft boot above might be melt?
@keizomatsuzaki Жыл бұрын
sorry, not heat sinks but 2 heat shields protect cv joint boot. new pipe does not come with those heat shields. is it safe?
@justthetipgarage5305 Жыл бұрын
Yea it didn’t come with them but also haven’t had an issue with them getting too hot or melting anything

The New pipe doesnt have The 2 holes with The 2 heat shields covering them on this New pipe from what i see, has it affected the Floor Board of your car ?
@justthetipgarage53058 ай бұрын
Nope not at all. And you’re right new pipe doesn’t have heat shields. But we haven’t noticed a difference

Did this Vehicle have Fumes coming from that Exhaust pipe making its way inside the vehicle thru the AC vents ?
@justthetipgarage53058 ай бұрын
Yea you could hear it and smell it. Plus it failed inspection for it so we replaced it.

@@justthetipgarage5305 I Appreciate you and the video Im currently having the same problem,but now im gonna order the part and have it put on to replace the factory pipe solve this problem
@justthetipgarage53058 ай бұрын
No problem glad I could help. Make sure you get the nuts and bolts to or whatever the connection hardware is. Those spring bolts at the front tend to be bad if you live in the rust belt
@htdrock2 жыл бұрын
Mine rusted in the exact same spot. You have any idea what the point of those shields are? A lot of the after market replacements don't even have the shields on there
@justthetipgarage53052 жыл бұрын
Shields are just for heat. Like I said in the video you could probably weld and patch them but the pipe is so cheap I just replaced it.

Would a leak in this location cause a gas smell to enter the cabin through the HVAC vents? I'm smelling gas, and I've replaced air filter, pcv valve, etc., and still smell it. No oil or actual gas leaking on the ground, so I'm suspecting an exhaust leak. Thanks in advance
@justthetipgarage5305 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely could and it’s easy enough to spot. Just put it on ramps or jack it up and take a look. It’s easy to spot

My civic had only a very tiny oil drip with strong exhaust smell in the cabin. Turned out to be a bad valve cover gasket

I have a crack on the manifold, right next to the A/F ratio sensor. I have a check engine light and code p0135. Can I just seal it with something? thanks

Probably won’t hold but you could try jb weld.

Im planning on doing this repair on my civic, im going to buy 6 spring/bolt + the pipe, what else do i need? any gasket/seal? i have work on my car multiple time but exhaust is a first.
@justthetipgarage53053 жыл бұрын
Nope no gasket or seals. It Just bolts together. Pretty easy just a little harder on the ground than on a lift. If I remember correctly one of the front spring bolts didn’t snap but the other one did.

I have an exhaust leak that is potentially just the exhaust flange gasket. I have purchased the gasket but not the bolts. I see the comments about having to replace the bolts with new ones. Should I assume that I will have to replace the bolts as well?
@justthetipgarage5305 Жыл бұрын
Yea you should have some new bolts on hand. Those old ones will probably snap off.
