René Kochli has developed during almost a decade this spectacular looking Honda Civic EG6, raced on both Time Attack and Hillclimb events and powered by a 350Hp K24 Naturally Aspirated Engine. It is one of the fastest FWD Hillclimb Cars in Europe and on these last 2 years has seen some incredible aerodynamic development to fully explore the potential of this FWD lightweight Racing machine.
Footage here shown stems from Oberhallau Bergrennen 2018, where it was already showing a lot its last evolutions, which would be completed during 2019 with even more improvements made. But that will be for another video in the near future...

The corner speed is insane! No big turbo, no popping exhaust, no antilag, no « 800hp car but with 300hp in first gear, 430hp in second gear, etc» bullsh*t, just NA motor... this thing is awesome

You still don't get peak horsepower in first gear.... You can't peak the rpm that high all the time in first or second otherwise you'll do long-term damage to the mechanicals.... Far better than a traditional Turbo setup on a car with around 500HP peak. But what you need to take into consideration is that these days a decently tuned compressed Turbocharged setup can easily hit peak Horsepower in lower gears without much hassle, and with the huge improvements in cost reduction for high-speed electric motors it is becoming possible to annihilate any previous N/A engine potential by using a hybrid drivetrain and a hybrid powertrain. (Electric motors on all 4 wheels, and electric hybrid compressed turbocharged engine.) These days cars potential is held back by stringent regulation that doesn't like anything that isn't burning dead dinosaurs.... All in a hopeless attempt to save the traditional combustion engine from it's death in the traditional sense. Alcohol fueled cars are definitely going to be around for a while, and hydrogen combustion also offers plenty of potential. It shall be interesting to see how things develop.

@@longnamedude3947 The opposite is true. Electric is being pushed far sooner than it is truly "ready", both in an infrastructure / industry / economy sense and in terms of the pure technology and performance (range, energy density - i.e. WEIGHT). This is fine because it will stimulate R&D and eventually release the ICE from regulation itself, although development will likely stagnate there. The ICE is far from reaching its technological peak. This car is traction limited in first and second, nothing to do with longevity of the "mechanicals". The same would be true of a hybrid drivetrain.

Thank you al for watching it. This cars is built over 10 years. Every year / winter some mods. Actually it has an 2.7 with about 390 hp and 350 NM. Weight is about 820 kg with all this aero. The aero works fine. See new record last year in Les Rangiers. 1 in class and 3 im scratch behind 3 Mitsubishi Evo Monsters with over 700 hp. This are no races in Switzerland. See. You next Year

Johnny Sodak With the material used, theoretically 10,000 are possible. To run a hill race season without revision, we turn max. 9.000.

Grip,speed,power,low weight and stable-that's how you build a race car. Most perfect Honda hillclimb build i've seen.A proper monster.Driver is amazingly smooth and carries crazy speed trough corners.This channel deserves 1 milion subs at the very least.

@Ahmad Rizki Hidayat You are half right on this case. The car right now and after 2019 is powered by the 2.7L stroker K24, but this video features the 2018 version which was still powered by the 2.4L K24 😉

What a beautiful engine bay, with the crème de la crème of parts too. It even looks kind of like the 90's BTCC Accords with the reversed head and forward facing carbon plenum.

A class act of a car, so smooth. I do wonder about the transmission, the driver isn't touching the clutch on upshifts but they are on downshifts. Any info on how that works would be appreciated.

Sequential setup like a motorbike. It’ll be setup to back the throttle off for a fraction of a second as it goes up a gear

No, the engine produces a lot of power and torque but this car has a very smart traction control system so you don't see it spinning in 4th
