In this episode of this series, we are introducing our next minor refresh project, JDM Honda EK9 Civic Type-R. At 26 years old, we will be addressing some of the imperfection from normal wear and tear, including dents removal along with painting and refinishing some of the key components: Front bumper and lip, Rear bumper and lip, both side skirts, roof hatch spoiler base and both front headlights.

Only bummer is the hood. Those damn hail dings or dents near the nose of the hood make me sad. My Si has them too and the PDR isn't possible there. With that being said.. this thing came out great. What a nice car especially considering its age. You guys crushed it.

There’s some limitations on PDR. Often times, PDR technicians would drill holes to access areas that can’t be reach. We didn’t want that option.

The pdr guy didn’t do that hot of a job on the door, I’m not sure if it was dents he could not get but you can still see them in the door around the 15:08-15:18 mark besides that the attention to detail is spectacular

Unfortunately not all dents can be removed with PDR since some panels/areas do not have access for the tool. And we avoided any hole drilling

Yes thats one of the factor, the supply and demand, since this will become legal when the car reach the age of 25 they are now legal to enter US territory, for bidding atleast 20,000 US $ to get one, and its not mint, 8 to 8.5 out of 10 condition may be, the mintier the more expensive.

Unfortunately there’s some limitations to PDR. We are extremely please with the result. There were over 26 dents all around the car. 2 dents were size of a fist

So apparently the EK9 had no rear windshield wiper interesting I'm in the process of building an EK9l from a 1999 DX hatchback I have the whole front end of an EK9 everything including wiring no wires were cut not even has tank or hatch wires this ones gonna be an interesting one just got in co tact with Slavuagd Vehcile inspection officer and California Highway Patrol I'm cleared to do this and get a new US vin# assigned currently today I just cut out the firewall I'm even getting ever detail right the the sub towers crossbar support bar studs all other hatches don't have the little threaded studs only EK9

Hey man, I have a 92VX 60K miles, all original no mods. My dream since high school in the mid 90s has been to have a VX with a B18C5 Type R swap total sleeper, bone stock interior. My thoughts are this car is too nice to swap, but its not perfect, it was a northern car so there is rust. I'd love to send it somewhere, that can do the swap right, redo the paint, install a/c, redo the suspension, make it look factory. I'm not a tuck guy, I'm an old school 90s guy, that wants a sleeper but I want it done right with og parts.
