Honda Civic FK7 exhaust resonator delete

UK Honda Civic FK7 1.5T sport with the resonator removed.
Video is the before and after.
I couldn’t really find many good videos when I was considering doing this, so hopefully it helps others.
The GOPRO is amplifying the sound. I personally think it sounds quieter in person then it does in this video. But hopefully it gives you a good idea.

This sounds like the stock exhaust on an Elantra Sport/N Line with the 1.6t. I used to have one, 2017 with a manual. My wife has a 2021 Civic 1.5t, and I wanted to replicate the sound of my Elantra Sport with her car. She doesn’t want it loud, but I want just a little bit of tone to match the tailpipe and diffuser kit I am getting for it.

Hello buddy. I hope you like it. I still like mine like this. It’s definitely a nice stepping stone before you either go the whole hog and get a custom exhaust/after market or decide to put it back to standard. I kept the resonator as well so if I wanted I could always have it put back in. Enjoy . Thank you for the comment

I installed a Flowmaster muffler.... forgot to tell them to remove resonator... going back tomorrow

I’m in the UK and it’s not up for MOT yet but yeah it won’t cause any emissions issues. The resonator removes certain sound frequencies from the exhaust system so yeah it makes it a bit louder but the catalytic converter is the bit that does all the emissions reduction.

i am really looking into doing this but I don't want a CEL ( check engine light ), did yours pop up after the delete?

No it doesn’t cause a CEL. This is the resonator, not the catalytic converter

@@AgriCo42069 you don’t notice it as much when driving as you are in the car, didn’t get any videos of it driving by to be honest but I’m sure it sounded abit louder outside to. It is more noticeable in the video, on idle mainly due to lower background noise.

about a hour, I'm guessing around $100. I had my mufflers and resonators taken off for around 250. If you want sound clips, I have some on my channel.

No mate, it’s not that loud. You can cruise along quite nicely on the motorway and around town and it doesn’t drone. I mean without music on you can hear it but it’s not loud. If you watch my other short video of the green jazz I have. That’s loud. That’s horrendous inside the car when it’s on power. The civic with a res delete isn’t like that.

Sorry I have only just seen this. So it was just the middle resonator removed. It still has the twin silencers in the back box and the catalytic converter in.

hows it holding up. i got a muffler delete a long time ago and it was annyoing but now i my civic is on a ktuner and short ram intake. I have 1.5t CVT i dont want drone and i want to remove ONLY resonator. thanks in advance for any insight

It’s fine. It isn’t going to break, put it that way. I personally would like it abit louder but it’s alright. It’s how it should have been from the factory I think

Hi sorry I didn’t see this till now. Yeah it did burble a bit. It didn’t properly pop as it still had a catalytic converter in it which calmed a lot of that down.

No. No drone. There is enough to hear you have the resonator removed but if you are driving and have your music on, you almost forget it’s done until you put your foot down and even then it’s not loud. It’s how I think the exhaust should have sounded from factory
