In contrast with the official laptime car, this one does not rotate in the corner, featuring understeer very much. The official laptime must made with special settings.

Maybe front camber and rear toe alignment were different. No wonder FWD with stock setting become like this.

he just driving fast, but not record breaking fast, not even close. The driver on lap record was driving like there is no tomorrow. This difference in seconds in 20km lap is pretty much justified

Since everyone seems to be asking questions. I'm Japanese and I own a Civic Type R FL5 and live in Japan. After the official time attack at Nurburgring, additional information was published online. The car used was a Civic Type R-S. It said that it was definitely lighter. I forget what other improvements were made. It was announced by Honda Europe, which means it will be released in countries with left-hand drive. I don't know if it has been announced or released at the moment. I just wanted to let you know as it's information.

Crazy it is a lot slower than the laptime Honda published. This is with Cup2 tires already and with standard PS4S. I doubt it won't even get into Sub 8 minutes.

Because factory and magazine laptimes are vastly different. And considering they drove a tweaked Civic Type R S in the official Honda run, it's really no surprise the regular Type R is slower. It's all done for marketing.

most of lap time is tuned car by car company but in this channel only tyre(for safety) so this is real lap like tesla without brake(around $20,000) tune they even finish 1 lap also honda vtec is old tech

@@yonghyokim1745 Variable valve timing is old tech? What on earth are you talking about variable valve timing is not old in the sense that its been superseded. Almost any ICE performance engine coming out now would have this tech because its the best solution it being old doesn't mean it doesn't work or is slower. Apart from camless engines do you want to just have one solid camshaft profile?!! LOL? Varying the timing is night and day in terms of efficiency and power vs no varying the cam timing. Its particularly useful when mated to a turbo charger.

Hallo Sport Auto ich habe eure Zeitschrift gekauft und den Test gelesen. Ich vermute das FAhrzeug könnte noch schneller sein, da Ihr es nicht geschafft habt die Traktionskontrolle komplett zu deaktivieren laut eurem Bericht - Wenn die Traktionskontrolle im individual Mode eingreift werden die hinteren Räder abgebremmst ohne das Ihr das groß merkt, nenn sich agile Handling assist - im Ganzen kostet es dann aber Zeit hinten raus. Im Individual Mode könnt Ihr die Dämpfer auf Sport oder Soft stellen und die Traktionscontrolle folgendermaßen deaktivieren: Auto einschalten Feststellbremse lösen Bremspedal drücken und halten Schalten Sie die Traktionskontrolle ein und aus Bremspedal loslassen Feststellbremse einschalten Antriebsschlupfregelung ein- und ausschalten Bremspedal drücken und halten Traktionskontrolle ein- und ausschalten Die Leuchte der Traktionskontrolle sollte leuchten und eine weitere Leuchte blinken. The time set by manufacturers cannot be compared to time set by independent auto publications. This, and all his time attack tests appear to be using regular press cars. If you compare all his Nurburgring lap times with those set by the manufacturer you’ll notice, pretty much all are slightly slower. Manufacturers often do multiple test runs and pick the most ideal conditions to set the lap record and not to mention with a test car that may not be 100% the same as one that is sold to the public. The test vehicle may have special compound tyres, different alignment or suspension settings or in some cases, different gear ratios or even possibly a slight bump in power. As an independent test driver, Christian is probably as good as they come. And the only comparable lap times would be those that he set in other models that he tested.

​@@ventouxR I would take all of your points, IF and ONLY IF Honda had been clearly up-front in their advertisement that they broke a new FWD Nur lap record with a new CTR xxxxxx-version with a complete list of specific mods made to that version. This was NOT the case, which is why ppl (and Misha) started questioning the credibility of Honda's claim after running it around Nur and realising all the issues and its pace that is nowhere near what Honda claimed. This is the textbook-definition of 'Cheating', Period.

What are the gear ratios that the whole world now know are different to stock? If so, YES, THAT WAS FULL-BLOWN CHEATING.

Cup2 brings about 0.5Sec per km in comparison to UHP, so I guess about 8:15 for GR86 on Cup 2.

Christian Gebhardt has driven various cars to break lap times. This just shows that the stock Type R and the Type R shown in hondas video are 2 different cars. Enough said.

Don't wanna be a "bad guy"" here. Not gonna say anything about the car, but the driver could push the car more, the gear changing look like a new manual driver. It's ok if you gonna do a relax and easy lap. It should be pushed hard as long as you are gonna put the lap time on the video. 😊

@@user-zb4lg3pr9g Das ist wahr, dennoch gibt es fast keine Quellen bezgl. Type R S Sondermodell. Dadurch kann leicht Verwirrung entstehen. Das ist wie als würde man einem Megane RS einen Rekord anerkennen, obwohl es ein Trophy war.

​@@zNxhjnon-OPF-FK8 haben auch immer 10+PS nach oben gestreut. Die mit OPF nicht so stark. Viel schlimmer ist, dass seit dem FK2R der gleiche Block verwndet wird, obwohl Honda seit 2019 mitbekommen hat, dass Kunden langsam defekte an den Zylinderkopfdichtungen meldeten. Spätestens beim FL5 wusste Honda, dass der Block nicht stabil genug für ein Autoleben ist. Die Zylinder schwingen zu stark & verursachen Schäden an ZKD, Rissen in sich selbst & Köpfen.

Die meisten fk8 die ich gesehen habe hatten um die 315ps. Der fl5 hat ja ein anderen lader, verbraucht allerdings auch sehr viel mehr als der fk8. (Also für die 15ps mehr an Leistung) aber ansonsten würde ich den fl5 nicht mehr tauschen wollen.

Because Honda cheated. They ran shorter gearing and increase boost pressure. It's why the gearing don't match the cars you buy at the dealership.

Mann mann mann mann traurig in welcher Zeit wir angekommen sind😢 das scheint doch Lautsprecher Getöse zu sein was man die ganze Zeit hört und kein echtes Motorengeräusch mehr echt ätzend😂😂 was ist das dauernd für ein Pieper bevor oder während der Schaltvorgänge? Naja aber wenigstens der Herr Gebhard wie immer fehlerfrei unterwegs und lässt das Ding schön fliegen😊😊😊😊 aber das Fahrzeug ist ja mal richtig Hart abgestimmt zu anderen Fahrzeugen da hoppelt alles mein lieber Freund😢 das Fahrzeug springt ja teilweise durch die Gegend😮 und der Fahrer auch😂😂😂😂

Die Box kannst abklemmen und den akustischen Schaltblitz deaktivieren im Menü wenn es Dich stört. Du kannst Die Dämpfer komplett weich stellen, das macht jeder Fahrer wie er meint - manche Fahren im Plus R Modus da sind die Dämpfer viel zu hart für die Nordschleife - der Rekord von Honda wurde auch im individuellen Modus und auf Dämpfer weich gefahren soviel ich weiß.

@@Earl_VTEC Ich wll dir nicht zu nahe treten als ehemaliger Type R Fahrer, der seinen FK8 auch geliebt habt. Aber Junge das wird echt peinlich hier. Fakt ist. Das Pressefahrzeug und der TYPE R seitens Honda gezeigt sind 2 verschiedene Fahrzeuge. Egal wie du es schön reden willst mit TYPE R S blabla . Den FK8 im Type R S trim konntest du wenigstens noch richtig bestellen. Das bietet Honda gar nicht mehr zum Kauf an. Es gibt nur den einen TYPE R . Nichts mit R GT, mit GT-Line und S. Nur den Type R. Und dann redet Honda sich hier mit leeren Worten raus. Jaja Special Edition, die aber nirgends wo angeboten wurde. Oder kommt noch was exklusiv für den japanischen Markt, aber keiner hat zugehört? Entweder es gibt das KFZ 1 zu 1 zu kaufen oder es stimmt eben das sie cheater sind. Nicht mal Renault war so dreist als die ihren überteurten Renault Mégane RS Trophy-R präsentiert haben, der fast doppelt so teuer war wie der normale Trophy mit LSD und 4 Rad Lenkung. Das Auto gab es immerhin 1 zu 1 so zu kaufen. Oder soll ich noch über das Facelift Dilema reden. Wo sind angeblich die Kühlung für den K20c verbessert haben. Nichts war. Und dann wieder im FL5 die gleiche Story: Jaja wir haben die Kühlung weiter verbessert. Nichts! Du siehst Reihenweise Yotube Videos von FL5 an der Hitzegrenze. Oder eben FK8 FL Sowas ist einfach nur peinlich. Deine Aussagen und was Honda hier abliefert! Und das war auch der Grund für mich good bye zu sagen. Von ZKD und Open Deck Design was zu rissen führen kann, reden wir erst gar nicht.

@@Bexter_85 Aber Type R hat eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 277 km/h, meiner fährt über 280 km/h. Der FL hat nur breitere Reifen, der Abtrieb hat sich nicht wesentlich verändert, er ist kein Porsche Gt3. Wenn dieses Auto ein Problem hat, von 240 auf 250 zu beschleunigen, ist das ein Witz, also will ich es nicht glauben. Mein Fk8 beschleunigt besser bei 270!

​@@waldek1650von 245er auf 265er, etwas mehr Downforce und ein längerer 6 Gang..., in Summe wird eben mehr Kraft benötigt, daß nicht zu unterschätzen ist, vor allem wenn nur 98 Oktan drin ist! Außerdem geht's auf der Döttinger Geraden leicht bergauf... Ich bin mit meinem FL5 trotz Carbon Flügel, der gut 100kg Abtrieb bei 200km/h bringt (deutlich mehr als beim FK8) ne 280 gefahren

@@user-nb3xu6fl9q It's less than 8 seconds faster over a 20+ km track than an i30 N which is half the price and is based on a 2013 platform. Same goes for a VW Golf. It's also not any faster than previous generation Civic. The performance is not the problem though, the problem is a cheated official laptime and a ridiculous price for the car..

Its the fastest hatch still by a mile 😂 The Megane fully stripped with carbon brakes and slicks was barely any quicker. Wheres the GR yaris, Hyundai, Golf gti????

Your lesson, learn that Sport Auto laps are not driven with manufacturer pre-performed vehicles and the Sport Auto laps are always slower.

The interior looks like Dacia Sandero and that rear wing makes it look like a Ricer Car. 😂😂🤦 A more powerful and faster BMW M4 CSL bdoesn't need rear wing, but Civic Type-R needs it? 🤔🤦

@@Earl_VTEC I also consider BMW M4 really ugly with that front grille, but I mentioned it in terms of performance and lap times, where it is very good tho. No, that rear wing doesn't make him look better... It makes it look like a Ricer Car, if you know what it means.
