I never understood why rear air vent were so important until I had to transport my 2yo niece on a warm day in my car that has no vents. Within minutes she was in distress from the heat. It's almost a safety issue and seems like a straightforward piece of engineering.

Overall I am leaning more towards the Hyundai over the Honda. Here in the U.S. I would only consider buying the Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line with the premium package and 7-speed DCT. It comes from a hatchback with a spacious 25 cubic feet of trunk space plus a lot of features that are not offered in the Honda. Another car I would consider is the Mazda 3 Premium with the 6-speed manual.

@MLife19725 жыл бұрын
Super review as always. I'll take the rear end of the Elantra and the front of the Civic. I've test driven both and agree with all the comments but I thought the drive-train in the Elantra was woeful. I tried to perform a u-turn in the Elantra and there was no power at all and I almost got collected by the oncoming traffic before the power kicked in. I don't know whether it was the DCT or turbo lag, but the same thing happened at a roundabout. There was just no low speed shove that you expect from a 'sporty' vehicle. The Civic is no superstar but the take-off from stand still was much more consistent.
@chasingcars5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the DCT. It’s not an amazing operator - but as a DSG owner myself you do learn to drive around them. Not that you should have to drive ‘around’ a gearbox!

Most likely correct but it is a crystal ball prediction. I’m not sure the Civic is held in the same esteem as it once was in Australia, compared to say the resale and reputation for reliability of a Corolla.
