This video is heaven-sent! This is exactly what happened to my 2008 Honda Civic a few days ago. I started the car, happen to glance at the clock, and it read "January, 2002" and the time read 4:00 p.m. I thought someone had been tampering with my car! Judging from the number of comments, I'm obviously not alone.

Interesting. I noticed this on the first day of this year that I was in my 2011 crv. So it is a software issue then? I know that a lot of older satnav systems have lost the date/time capability due to not having enough character spaces to clock-on the week numbering system that is used in the satellite transmissions. It is a bit like the old Y2K issue apparently. That issue is not fixable as is software related as I found out with my boat satnav which I had to replace. I hope this isn’t the same for this unit. 😳 Not sure how it will self remedy in August. Sounds alarmingly like kicking the can down the road to me!

Oh, thank you! This damn thing keeps resetting and I thought a fuse was blown. Phew, good thing I saw this before starting to temper with the system.
@RGMGFitness2 жыл бұрын
Hi…the following work-around (hack) worked for me. I own a 2008 Honda Accord with NAV System. I pulled the red fuse (10amp fuse) to dashboard a few minutes before 1:00. Then reinserted the fuse exactly at 1:00. The clock reset to 1:00 on my system (not 4:00 like some others). The calendar is still wrong but time is accurate. Been working fine for past 24hours. Though sounds like this HACK is NOT working for a few of you. Sounds like it may not be working for those who’s clock default to 4:00? That’s as much as I can gather from what I’ve read in comments. So, if your clock defaults to 1:00 this should work for you. You can either pull the fuse or discount one of the battery leads. Hope that helps! 👍

This is the response I got from honda We value you as a Honda customer and appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concern. On behalf of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., we apologize for the circumstances which prompted you to reach out to us. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for bringing your concern(s) to our attention. Upon further review of the circumstances related to the inability to adjust the calendar/clock, we have confirmed that the issue is related to the navigation system’s internal calendar/clock. We have also confirmed that the internal calendar/clock issue is temporary, and the navigation system will auto correct itself after the summer of 2022. We ask that you wait until September 2022, after which you will be able to manually adjust the calendar/clock to your preferred time. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this matter.

Funny how all of a sudden I'm a bit relieved seeing this, not really. I changed out my battery back in December 2022, all my stuff was still there, the time, radio stations, date, weird since the battery had been out for over an hour. The next day the clock said 4:00, I didn't catch it until I got back in after grabbing food and starting my 2010 crv. It was 4:00, wtf, I checked my phone, it was 5:00 so I tried to change the time just like the video and got the same results. This past year I spent over $100.00 for the latest and final NAVI disk update for my 2010 CR-V.
