Excellent vid, I'm getting ready to do this with a WR200 engine and still waiting for a few parts. The other day I put my (old) crankshaft in the freezer and heated up the old main bearing inner race to do a test fitting and it slipped straight on (and then became impossible to remove without a bearing puller when it reached room temperature so all good). My only concern is how do you keep condensation from damaging the main and big end bearings? After a few minutes out of the freezer my crank was wringing wet as it warmed up. Thanks, hope you can help!
@brian.d.mobley3 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex! Great question! In the short run, you can spray the crank with WD40 after installation. However, if you store your bike in a garage or other space that has no humidity control, condensation will always affect the internals of your motor after assembly. Hey Bluegrass. The reason you lube the gasket or the faces is to make it easier to disassemble the cases if they need servicing in the future. But, you don’t have to. Hey Mike. Is this kickstart on a CR85? And, spinning the crank makes your kickstart shaft click? If yes, how are you spinning the crank? BTW, there is a very famous skateboarder from the 80’s named Mike McGill and I have one of his boards to this day!!

@brian.d.mobley4 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard. A few things come to mind. The head may be warped. I go over that in another video titled "Tips and Tricks for Measuring Your Top End." Another is the torque specs for the head are not correct or not the same on each of the four head bolts. Check these first. If your problem is not solved, let me know.

Hi Send Memes. Im not sure exactly what you mean regarding drum movement. Lateral movement like runout or rotational movement while shifting. If the engine is operational, can you share with me whether the transmission comes out of gear during operation?
@sendmemes54746 ай бұрын
@brian.d.mobley it pops out of gears in first and second like there false neutrals and the shifting drum the pins that slide out into the drum to pick the slot to move it in the next gear don't do anything unless you actaully jam the shifter or kick it down or up one thing I do know tho is I will never be buying another honda after this bike tho complete lemon clutch wont engage nothing works on it and I've put over 50 hours into this engine alone
