Just a heads up- (and I heard this in another video so it could be wrong) - those brake lines need to be able to move 10inch’s with the suspension travel, you shouldn’t clip them back👍 Great video 😊

I have a 300L. I've just ridden to Morocco and back covering 8k miles. I have spent over 2k on modifications which makes my 300L the best little adventure bike you can buy. Its light weight when you drop it. Brilliant fuel return. 90mpg to Morocco and back . Easier to work on. Simple to service. No electronics. You don't need the bike to be high as you say. You can get short and long suspension from several suppliers including Rally Raid. I have the short suspension on my 300L. I can get both my feet down easily. I've never run-out of ground clearance. New suspension transforms the bike. Yes I would like a little more power but I don't need it. It's taken Honda far to long to bring out a reasonable trail bike. I hope suzuki and Yamaha will.bring their own trail bikes to market. Then we'll have some competition in that segment. You can get a new Acerbis 14 litre tank now. I use a Desert fox 6 liter fuel bladder for extra mileage. I do have a little rust on the front brake disc and a couple of fasteners which is poor. It's great. Thanks for your video.

I'm beginning to think I need one of these just to cope with the horribly potholed UK roads. Thanks for taking us along with you.

Very nice . Thank you. They say Henry Ford put America on wheels. Honda may be doing the same thing for the planet. Honda has a well earned reputation for bullet proof reliability. "You meet the nicest people on a Honda"

Last year I added a g310gs to the stable as we have many dirt roads in the area that my 1250rs would never have explored. Going slower one can see what has been overlooked many times on a larger go faster bike. Also a lighter bike as age is creeping up will extend my riding years. Never give up and enjoy every ride. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️--☕🍩☕🍩

Getting 2 x CRF300's, for me and my son, planning to ride from Cumbria to the Med in September. Not thinking of it as a challenge, but as fun! If Itchy boots can do distance so can we, but must admit it would be a lot easier on my GS! Looking forward to it!

It's a great bike. Fast enough to go on highways, reliable, has long service intervals, and can go anywhere. Suspension doesn't need upgrading if you aren't bottoming out all the time. I played that upgrade game on my DR650 (still available new in the 3rd world country of Canada) and inadvertently made my bike harsh on bumpy roads and the seat unnecessarily tall from getting "proper" sag so I couldn't use reverse. I spin the bike around on the kickstand in parking stalls but it's hard the the asphalt on hot days.

Weird I was only looking at reviews on this bike today and you popped up Dave, I forgot you have one 😂 was thinking to get one maybe the rally version next October for a winter bike, so I don’t have to ride my Yamaha and Bonny in winter. I’ll be picking your brains when we meet up 👍

A year already Dave flip me where has the time went, you could spend a fortune on them changing things and not notice a lot of difference but the one thing most videos have recommended is changing the tyres. It's like their choice of tyres wasn't given much thought for anyone looking to use the bike for its off road potential Happy 1st birthday CRF300 🎂😂

Amazing video great review and interesting point brought up. Hoping to pick up one of their newer models whenever the CRF300LS comes out. I’m only 166cm and have a hand time getting onto the 300l. Hopefully the smaller LS mode will do the trick.

Beautiful landscape. Perfect setting for this bike. I would buy one but no one has any for sale. Some say too soft, some say plush. It’s all how you look at it. Cheers

Super video... a little work of art. It was a beautiful stream of consciousness riding the 300L - that I could really chime with (having had one for a few months). It was a real joy to watch. Thanks. Brilliant. Put a huge smile on my face :-)

In a few weeks they have a CRF300L at my local Honda dealer. If it’s what I expect, it might be my next bike. Wouldn’t go for the grey one, spare or aftermarket parts will probably be a lot harder to get than for the standard color, especially in 10 - 20 years from now.

Love your video bud, same attitude as me, you’ve made me want one more than ever now, probably same age as yourself and also got a couple of bigger bikes, but I think I’d love this bike, no green lanes here in Scotland unfortunately 😂

Thanks for a good review. I wanted one during the pandemic bike shortage and none were to be had, so bought a used Yamaha WR250R. I’m lucky: near our house in West Virginia there are hundreds of miles of proper trails and two-track logging roads. Real knobby tires make a world of difference. Thanks again.

Great video as always Dave.... Alas over here in Scotland we don't really have any green laning either.... trespass laws and Scottish Government negativity towards motorcycles means it is very difficult to go off road unless you know a very generous land owner.....

Nice one Dave, great to see the bike again on your channel. I really like the CRF300, if I didn't have my Beta or aprilia, I would probably get a CRF300 Rally. Is a real shame you don't have as many places to ride it as we do in England.

i noticed in the beginning you had a bit north of half a tank and a bar before empty, and you started with 952km and ended with 1026 making this 74km for a half of tank. The tank says it's 8 liter one, so the consumption of this trip is 5.4l/100km which seems a bit too high. Is any problem with the fuel estimation. Did you try the range from full to empty ? if not, will you try it ?

Hi Dave and thanks for the video. I have a question, isn't it dangereus to tie that brake cable like that? I know this is a common issue on the CRF300L, it's blobking the vision of the screen.
@WheelieGoodTV Жыл бұрын
I cabled it when I got it and no issues so far. I prefer it rather than the way it should be which distracts me when riding. 👍🏍

Not for my needs Brian. I don’t commute or tour on my 300 I only tear up the back lanes and fields around home so the non rally is perfect for me. If it was my only bike then it would be the rally.

Superb clip thanks for sharing. I had a new crf 300l but sold it last month after owning it for 8 months . In Scotland there are no green lanes so just used it to and from work . There was no ooph in the 300 cc engine to even get to 70 mph ,my 125 Honda varadero I had in the past felt better and more comfortable. So now I use my 500cc re scrambler kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZrLpmOrdpypadk Dave

She also had to rebuild the engine and had quite a few problems, lol
@dennishaldiman6087 Жыл бұрын
@@94SexyStang - I believe that the only problem was the cam shaft. Other parts showed normal wear and tear. While the engine was apart, it was a good time to replace some of the parts that showed wear, even though they still had good life in them. That 300 L ally had been through many rough times, and any bike out there would have similar problems, if not more.
