When you are on flat rate, you'd never make money using hand tools for everything. You get used to how much trigger you need to tighten almost everything. Bearing crush and oil internals excluded. Torque wrenches can be used to go over anything you deem crucial.
@jacksontomblin46936 жыл бұрын
You never want to use power tools to tighten any kind of bolt on them motors its too easy the twist head off of a bolt or strip it out the casings wont handle as much torque as what you would expect
@Kmecha843 жыл бұрын
@@nimlil I agree man, I've been a licensed automotive journeyman for the past 13 years and I've worked flat rate. If you used hand tools for everything you'd starve. You do learn how bolts feel after tightening thousands upon thousands and I only use a torque wrench if I think it needs it. Trust a professional, we go to school for a long time and do this for a living and we want everyone to return home safe to their families. At least that's how I feel anyways so take that for what it's worth
@chrisjanuary982610 жыл бұрын
I'm a trained honda tech who works at a honda dealership , and lord knows I would never use an impact on drain plugs or oil filter covers. Too easy too over torque. Also, do not thread in the dip stick when checking oil level. never reuse your crush washers. They are a one time use washer and should always be replaced. One more thing, save your money and change your oil and filter every three rides. Modern oil and a good oem or equivalent filter can last longer than this guy says.

HMMM is it bad that iv never changed my dirt bikes oil once? its only a crf100 that I want to sell because its way to little for me now, I need the money for a car im not sure but it might have grit in the piston, causing it to wear and loose compression i guess iv never changed it because the dip stick always shows clear good oil... it stalls on hills and you can Absolutely NOT kick start it, it wont work so you have to pop the clutch going down a hill, its temperamental sometimes dieing in the middle of a desolate field or track and its a very hard pain to get it running again its VERY low on power AND cant manage over 25 mph in top gear and the suspension seems garbage considering theres only about a inch of compression on the rear spring and its all gone when you sit on it because it sinks so low. still runs (on its last legs possibly) it might need a top end rebuild... bottom line im not sure what is wrong with it also if there is a small bike battery powering the spark plug it might be dead NOTE: im not all that familiar with dirt bikes so im not sure if they have a battery that needs to be changed every once and a whyal PLEASE HELP if the damage is done and its shot should i sell as is? fix it up? scrap it? sell for parts?

A good tip when draining the old oil is to lean the bike, pull decompression lever and then kick the bike a few times. This works well on the Xr650r and Xr600r and there is a lot of oil coming out by doing this.

Id i may make a couple recommendations. I personally have had my crf250 since brand new in 2005. In 2007 i had my motor completely built by procircuit. I bought a CRT reusable oil filter and always cleaned it out. My engine inside and out to this day still look brand new from the day i bought the bike. For oil, i personally use Maxima on the engine side and honda's recommended oil on the clutch side. I've used this combination since the day i had my motor built. I also add a bit of lucas oil stabilizer which has done amazingly.

+D-Block side
@CarsnStuff8 жыл бұрын
D-Block Engine side, just because the thick consistency tends to stay up in the top end when ever the bike is stored or sitting. Lucas likes to stick on all the metal components keeping them lubed at all times. and it makes it so cold starts don't wear out as quickly over time.
@MichaelJerkson8 жыл бұрын
+Review Guy nice idea... how much Lucas do you think you add?
@CarsnStuff8 жыл бұрын
MichaelJerkson I usually add less than a 1/4 of the bottle. I just pour it into the bottle of oil im about to add to the engine. and mix it all in there before pouring. Really keeps things lubricated even when the engine sits for awhile. Its nice how much it will stay inside your head and cam area with the thickness of it.
