Honda CT125 1000M climb in the hills to visit gold town ruins

Climb aboard my Honda CT125 as we take the twisting gravel road to Duffers Saddle, then down the other side and pull off on a rough track for 5km to see what remains of Potters, a 1880s gold mining area. Spoiler alert, not much of anything but the ride and struggle, make it worth watching.
Risky as I was riding solo and out of coverage area, no one else around either though my wife knew where I was headed. No chance of getting a rescue vehicle through the bog
The track comes in goes in quality, riding in ruts, mud, stone and through high grass.
Im pleased I did the ride though wont be repeating it anytime soon, much better places to visit.

I don't think I would take that ride without another rider, just in case something went wrong. You really were out in the middle of nowhere! A nice adventure, no doubt! The little Honda handled it very well.

This for me represents my nirvana, I would give anything to be on a CT125 on that ride. I have been trail riding since the early 80's riding all kinds of machinery but that is the bike of choice for sure for me. Thank you so much for doing this video, it is simply amazing. I am now going to watch more of your videos for sure.

Hi John , Good Job!!!😁👍 I discovered these CTs thru' a Japanese anime series called 'Super Cub'*, and now I'm looking thru' a bunch of CT Y'tube vids. I gave up motorbikes 10yrs ago after a 30yr stint (all-sorts and everything from a Honda50 to a Harley)... I think I want back in now... This looks like so much fun!!! Everything I was missing before... just simple, care-free FUN! (The way biking should be). *The anime series is here on Y'tube, complete, but you need a VPN to find / view it, running thru' Thailand. Mate, as a very experienced dirt rider myself, I reckon the way you cut corners and move over to the wrong side of the road means an accident is just waiting to happen when you are surprised by an on coming car/bike, pedestrian, or animal around the bend!!!!

The camera doesnt show every angle, about 60 degree field of view, compared to 220 FOV that eyesight gives. So, your not seeing the full picture. Ive been riding for 50yrs, mostly off road, never had a oncoming vehicle incident. You realise we drive on LHside in NZ. :-)

當過一年的車主 覺得 前後避震可以微微調整改個前叉套件 後避震可以換個氣壓避震 齒比可以調整過 1 .2 檔 很有力但很高轉很吵 輪胎維持原樣就好 IRC GP5好用 一般路面與土路都很好用 我超愛這台車 好騎省油又好玩

The bike is fine on the climb, low power and small suspension work well together. Im not replacing it anytime soon.

I grew up with a Trail 90 in the stable. It had been used all over Yellowstone and Arizona long before I was born. it had more miles on it then most cars, it was a great bike.

Driving up a dirt road is not a test of the ability of a "Trail Bike". Try going up a rough, steep trail where one cannot get much of a run due to the twists and turns. Running down a road that any two wheel drive car can cover is no test.
