Really well done. I'm restoring a 1969 Mini trail (my first bike back in 1971). Your camera and narration work is better than most. Keep up the great work!

12:13 i learned my lesson on that lol, had one of the little pocket flatheads slip and go into the webbing between my thumb and pointer and barely poke out the other side. lemme just say im extra mindful of putting pressure on something while a part of me is on the other side of the object

Did you use a spacer on the counter shaft? It did not look like it. Thanks

Love the video, bud! I’ve got a ‘77 CT70 that the kick starter only engages when the bike is leaned hard left, and the whole shaft slides to the right, maybe an inch, and has no resistance, many times if you’re not leaning or pushing the shaft to the left while kicking. But, it does run. Any thoughts? I was thinking maybe a circlip, or maybe a thrush washer broken. What do you think? Either way, I’ll be referencing your video when it’s time to put the cases back together. THANKS in advance. Not many young men are as gifted or as dedicated to a badass craft like you are. Keep it up man!

3:03, is he putting oil on the gasket? Why should you do this and how much should you be putting?
@Mechanic_kid Жыл бұрын
A lot of people do it. Supposedly makes it so you can crack the cases in the future and the gaskets don’t get ruined. I just put some oil on my finger and put it on the gasket

Where can I get that special socket that you used to screw the clutch in
I'm just curious why you put oil on the engine gaskets during installation?

n00b here. I'm picking up my first CT70. What tools should I have on stand by? Id like to take the engine apart and put it back together as a learning exercise. Thanks all.

How long does it take to do this

Possibly days if you don't know what your doing, but if you are organized and already have all your parts you should only be like an hour or 2

You are supposed to put the loctite in the hole not on the bolt
