I'm doing this job right now and my final drive bolts came out looking a little like yours, with the top of the threaded part a little stressed. Is it okay to re-use them?? Or should I break down and get new ones?

Is the unshielded side of the bearing not meant to go towards the diff?

I'm doing this job currently and got new diff bearings for the job. The new ones are unshielded, but the ones that came off are shielded. I'm guessing Honda updated the design and the shielding isn't *really* necessary. The whole thing sits in trans fluid all the time anyways.

a LSD???? When you rev up and only one tire spins its cause the OEM "open differential" will cut the power to the wheel spinning. LSD will lock up both wheels and helps you put the power down. Totally different car when you have LSD, especially FWD.
