Dude this came out sweet! Looked super easy to install. We should collab some time I'm here in SoCal we should hit up a national park with the elements 🤙

How are the panels working? Do you recommend topsolar?
@HaoVu17 ай бұрын
I recommend the panel but they updated it so the panel they sell on amazon doesnt perfectly lay across the Element roof anymore :(

Hows it held up?

Good. Secure it well with lots of 3M auto tape and make sure both surfaces are clean. The solar panel itself is a champ and a great fit

Helloooooooo…. Will this power a 12vt portable fridge. Maybe a 26 quart ?
@HaoVu1 Жыл бұрын
With a solar power bank of some sort for the easiest setup. Plug and play. Id say at least 500wh

Well done. The placement means you can't have use of the roof rack and collect solar energy at the same time, however. Many on the road with an Element have roof-top carriers, etc. for storage… which makes the front hood a potentially better location for some.

I do want an awning at some point but i dont see myself needing a cargo box or anything that would majorly block the panel..do you mount solar on the hood? Seems….hot

@@HaoVu1 For now I've got with an EcoFlow folding 160w panel that I can take out (and lock down) when charging my EcoFlow battery. I lay it over the cargo box! Raffi Zaki is the one with a panel on his hood.

I heard you can run the wires under the plastic runners on the roof of the element then drop the wires down behind the interior panels of the element for people who do not have a sunroof.

That sounds better, even if you do have the sunroof. It's always better to have wires tucked away so they can't be damaged.

I love your videos and I’m currently working on my element set-up, so thank you for great advice! Have you had any issues with rain leaks from the cords going into the moonroof?
@HaoVu12 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jessica. I have been in some heavy rain and there are no issues whatsoever. It just smashes the cable and still makes a perfect seal. The cable being pinched may or may not effect the efficiency of energy going through but its fine from my observation

I would get some corrugated plastic from a hardware store, or even use 4 or 6 pieces made from road signs of the same material to install under the flexible panel to keep them cool.
