Had many bikes in my life I'm 53 years old and currently have two bikes in my garage. Kawasaki concourse 14 for long distance and klx 300 sm for the city and for putting it in the back of my hitch and go travel in my van. It's a functional practical and fun bike. Good content

It's expensive but what I've done is fit my van's windows with electrochromic glass but the type that allows for either a varying degree of black or a varying degree of reflective surface. It's all controlled via an app on my cell phone (or a switch in the van) and eliminates having to store material and/or set this stored material up on the windows everytime it's needed. Oh, and of course it's the perfect fit. I'm sure it can be purchased somewhere but I made my own. This not only saved lots of money but was fun (in a learning sense) to do.

Hello friend. Its so good to see you traveling Death Valley in your Element. I just got an 07 Element and one of the things i def want to do is travel in her but i have been worried about the mpg and running out of gas. Especially going into national parks like D.V. with not many gas stations. I was concerned with running out between last chance gas before park and inside since the Element gets about 22-24 mgg on 15 gallon tank. How many miles did you get per tank? I am getting about 250-260. I have been looking at videos of Elements doing cross country trips to get myself ready. I will be driving from Florida to D.V. then to Oregon. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Very inspiring.

Does anyone hear him saying assembled in USA not made, just because is says assembled in the USA doesn’t mean it’s made in the USA. It’s made overseas and assembled here and put inside oem packages

The Ref;ectox is good if you are on a low budget. But the heat shields from HeatShields will last for many many years. I have the Gold HeatShields on my 2019 Silverado and they work Awesome. I made a video that shows the temp difference between having the HeatShields up and then removed then and also what the temp would be without any window HeatShields or window tint. It was only 94 degrees when I made this video. So I'm sure the inside would be like a furnace inside if the outside temp went to 110 degrees. kzbin.info/www/bejne/poO9aGRsmbOgpa8si=1dvjmfDwjvVRf_Cu

For want is wroth, I have 2 pilots, one I bought new and the other one I bought used. When it was time to replace the motor and trans mounts I bought OEM parts from the dealer and it cost me an arm and a leg! On my used one I bought my parts from the internet, and they were way cheaper. Fast forward… a replaced the OEM at 6 years, and aftermarket at 4.5 years. I spent about $750 at the dealer and $220 at parts geek. On the OEM, I started to noticed the wear at about 4-5th year of use. Aftermarket, after 2-3 years. In my opinion, if you doing the work, buy quality aftermarket that have warranty. You will save some goodg gas money. But if you taking your cars to the shop and paying labor, buy OEM.

i started out on an old cbr 125 from 2005 when i was 16 because in switzerland you can do the 125 at 16yo. i did everything with it but the underpower got me asking for more a year later. today at 19yo i just bought my cbr500 2021 and drove for the whole day until 3 am. starting on my 125 made me learn everything and now i can comfortably drive the 500. start slow, go fast later.

Used duralast on the rear mount for a 2010 Corolla and brought way to much engine vibration to the cabin. Worst than the original being replaced. Got burned on this one. Will be ordering OEM. Never again when it comes to engine mounts.

Your attitude is amazing, to be grateful for all God has given us. Take nothing for granted, nothing is free in this world except for the grace of God. I have my CB 750 and I'm so grateful to be able to do the same, to go for a nice ride. No my bike isn't super fast, it isn't super slow either, it's more than enough for my needs. God bless you. Mike.

I’ve had the Heatshield brand for years. I called and requested no suction cups. I got tired of flipping the cups from night and day. I just use old motel key cards to keep them in place. I can’t recommend Heat Shield enough!

You did not do your research for this video; the thing to check is do the aftermarket mounts, with harder material, vibrate and damage the vehicle vs the softer rubber in an OEM part, or a part direct from the manufacturer. The debate regarding changing your mounts is based on the fact that they use a new, hard material for mounts nowadays that causes intense vibrations; this is why some people recommend you go to the junkyard and get a mount off one of those cars instead of buying new; that mount came from the factory and has the old, good rubber material. What you did in this video is irrelevant to the topic of the video; mounts= vibrations; a visual inspection doesn't matter.

I have limo tint all around and that helps. The heatshield + tint + some black duct tape blocks 99% of light from being noticeable at night from the outside. Trust me i check this routinely because its important to me as well. I always point my car with the windshield facing in a direction where people generally wont be walking in front of my car at night because that one is the most noticeable. I use black tape to make longer edges on the heatshield for the windshield and back window and its almost impossible to tell i have my lights on full blast inside my car at night :)

I think its the quality and density of the rubber. The japanese companies are built on solid principles and probably have relationships with suppliers that go way back. The chinese stuff is just to make a quick buck using the most cost effective raw materials

I think its the quality and density of the rubber. When I think about it, a good chunk of car maintenance is just replacing some sort of rubber that has worn down. Whether it be a gasket or a bushing or a dampener of some sort. The quality of the rubber is of paramount importance and you can bet that the Japanese feel this way

I just saw a guy who sank $1000 bucks to get 5-6 hp out of his bike so go figure? Some bikes you might but at what cost & you were right about staying w/ the factory engine. Dropping a different cam/piston can kill other parts b/c there's balance in the factory motor that you're changing w/ other parts. And thanks for the video, I'm looking at this one !

I've been thru too many aftermarket motor mounts, pure garbage (97 Accord). OEM are hard to find and if you do they are overpriced. I was lucky to find the front mounts on Ebay ($20 for original Honda) so I grabbed two. I have to do the rear, again, and I'm dreading it; can't find original (it's 12/2023). I hear Anchor isn't that good but BECK/ARNLEY may be better...HELP!!!

Excluding life value, the difference could be in the response curve to applied torque. You could get a rougher ride due to more force transmission between the engine and the frame. The Duralast parts, similar to many aftermarket motor mounts, have thicker and stiffer elastomer dampeners. Stiffer shocks mean more bumps. The value is the right dampening plus life of the part.

I have an ‘07 Civic with 130k miles. Bought it two years ago and the first thing I did was replace the mounts, well not me but my then mechanic. That was in April of 2021. It is now December of 2023 and I’m with a new mechanic now having to replace the mounts again. From this experience I don’t think I’ll ever do aftermarket again. I think the price of OEM parts and the peace of mind it brings that they will function for a longer duration is better than having to worry about replacing mounts every 1-2 years. My mounts started giving out last year as my car got louder and vibration increased. The way I see it if you plan of having the car a for a while it’s better to do OEM than having to replace these parts 1-2 years because ultimately it’ll add up. What’s the difference of paying $600 for 5-6 years and paying $150 every 1-2 years

Iam new to riding, started on a high-powered electric bike, now i went to a honda ruckus, building my fundamentals and getting familiar with 2 wheels in traffic, now ill likely move up to the klx 300 sm, but possibly might get the xmax 300, but if i get the xmax ill only wait a year to get the klx, if i get klx, ill likely look to getting the kawasaki z650rs in maybe 2 years, but i definitely have realized iam a biker at heart, iam daily driving my ruckus and only time i don't ride a motorcycle will be if streets are to dangerous because of snow or if i got pick other people up or pick up supplies!!
