Great info, you explain and show everything really well, Thank You. It was a good suggestion to not only replace the inline transmission filter, but to change the rubber hose and clamps as well. Really appreciate you and your videos🙏🌟

Is this just for an automatic transmission?

Nice man good stuff. It's always important to change this out. I've been replacing ours every 50k miles just because it's a 04 why not right ?

Does the 07 element sc has the filter same place as older elements?

I'm pretty sure on a Honda ,the engine is warm but turned off to properly check the fluid level.

I literally did this just one hour ago with my dad. The main reason we did the oil change and replaced the fuild filter was because my transmission was overheating and shooting out trans fuild from the top near the dip stick, I think it’s called a breather tube for the transmission.

I test drove if for ten minutes and check everything so far so good. We’ll see tomorrow though I’m gonna drive for at least an hour on the freeway and see if my problem persists.

Hello, BTW, love your videos. I have a 2009 Element SC w/AT. I have 305K miles. AT shifts fine. Unfortunately, the AT fluid and filter have never been changed. What are the thoughts on changing it?
@dancohen847611 ай бұрын
change it! I did on mine, really helped
@goodnamesareallgone12 ай бұрын
At this point it's a crap shoot I think. Lots of people have reported problems after changing tranny fluid if it's been neglected... though technically it should have been changed at least a few times over it's 305k mile history.

Miguel - Will it damage the engine mounts or other aspects of the vehicle if you put your floor jack on the flat spot with the hole in it on the cross-member that is shown at 6:35 of the video? I've seen other mechanics put their jack at that point to jack the front end up and then place the floor jacks on the jacking points behind the front wheels.

I was googling "honda element jack points" and saw a diagram that said you can jack the vehicle up from that point. hope that helps.

Honda doesn’t recommend transmission filter change unless you are repairing the transmission. I took it to Honda and they confirmed this.
@Element_lifestyle2 жыл бұрын
Oh cool. Nice to know that. I will research In my program just to double make sure. But me as a mechanic I will definitely replace it. Especially some people don’t even know there is transmission filter in line.

@@Element_lifestyle my Honda dealer refused to charge the filter. Someone had indicated that it was in the service manual but I haven’t checked.
@Element_lifestyle2 жыл бұрын
@@HotRod-wv4vm i checked my program . They only recommend to replace it if the filter is leaking, contaminated or transmission was overhauled. Is not a maintenance item but I still will replace it at least every 60k miles(personal opinion)

Well you just flushed half of the fluid - and added half of the new one - normally you have to flushed two more times and waste all that fluid - to get a clean transmission fluid …!!!! Bad design. !!!!! Nice that you replace the filter. !!!!!
