@@IAmCruz100 imagine😂, atleast the CX-60 has 6 cylinders with ample power and rear wheel drive architecture to justify its million rand price. The Honda doesn’t have anything to justify its price tag

CVT with no cruise control at that price tag, and it,s a non-tow vehicle. Come on Honda. In India you can obtain the same vehicle with ADAS and standard cruise control. South Africa have be landed with cars that are not selling well in India, or surplus stock. The VW T-Cross comfort line DSG ticks all the boxes. Much better value for money.

Adaptive Cruise control and lane keep assist for the top spec in India. And yes camera based level 2 Adas on the top spec as well. I think they took out these to keep the pricing competitive after all the import duties. That is a shame😢.

Honda listens to customers? Then why don’t we see diesel engines in Honda’s here in SA? Why do we still see an underpowered HRV? Why are the majority of Honda’s only available in Cvt and not manual’s? General public now wants cars with slightly more torque instead of high revving engine options.

South Africa's diesel sucks
@thabzmad7265
@thabzmad7265 7 ай бұрын
Lol, diesel are being discontinued in most first world countries, unfortunately the technology is too expensive to keep clean. Though most 3rd world countries are still lacking in legislation, ultimately the big manufacturers rule when it comes to the type of engine you drive. South Africa is a very very small market especially with right hand drive and most manufacturers don't even bother selling cars here. Google VW diesel scandal for more.

@@MrChronic206yes our fuel quality does suck. Yet all German and Japanese en Korean manufacturers still launch good diesels here in SA.

@@thabzmad7265true yes, we are indeed a small market. All I am saying is.. look at all the manufacturers still launching good high tech diesels here in SA, including the premium brands and they still sell in good numbers. Honda being the only one who stopped launching diesels here. Diesel may be discounted in some countries but still rather relevant in many countries.

@@hermanagenbag4716 @hermanagenbag4716 You probably have your eye on the new Mazda cx60 diesel 3.3? Awesome car, I test drove it the other day would get one if I could! SA is a very small market especially for Honda, who struggle to sell even the petrol cars as the Honda brand is nothing compared to Toyota, even if Toyota is lower quality, SA brand snubs are not buying a Honda for 100K+ over a Toyota. The situation is not helped by the fact VW, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes and anyone who has a vehicle assembly plant here gets gov tax breaks and credits and are able to price their cars cheaper, unlike full importers like Honda. Its unfortunately not perceived as a luxury marquee in developed countries especially where they sell in huge numbers their bread and butter vehicles like the accords, civics and crvs . In those same markets, Mazda is very small and almost a non player. The same markets as it happens, don't like diesels. So unfortunately due to the fact they decided to focus on their core market (Mostly US and China) we get trickle down specifications from them. Other than Mazda, the only other marquee still refining diesel engines for non economy passenger cars are BMW. Even Volvo, Range rover and Mercedes have closed the door on diesel engines. VAG & PSA have been offering pretty much the same engine diesel for 15 years now with only emissions updates to make them Euro 5/6 compliant. Other than commercial applications, diesel is unfortunately pretty much out for passenger cars, no use crying over spilt milk. Electric vehicles are already here, time for a change!

Eco Leather is just a thinner vinyl like you got on cars in the 70s & 80s. Definitely not eco friendly compared to leather! Pricing wise all cars are too expensive for what South Africans earn. Manufactures need to give the government the middle finger and get the taxes reduced.

Following my weekend test drive, I found the car's appearance and overall driving experience to be satisfactory. It adeptly handled potholes and bumps, yet I was left disappointed by its power performance, particularly noticeable with three passengers aboard, especially during city driving. The CVT transmission appeared overwhelmed, consistently pushing beyond 4,000 RPM between stops. Moreover, the absence of cruise control and the inclusion of paddle shifts for a 1.5 CVT was both surprising and frustrating, particularly for a family-oriented vehicle. Considering the price point, superior-spec Japanese SUVs, including those made in India like Suzuki, offer better value for money. This experience left me underwhelmed by the car. I Think Honda should study south african market well if they want to make a real comeback. Chinese and indian brands have done a superior job in that matter.
@thabzmad7265
@thabzmad7265 7 ай бұрын
That 4000 rpm is exactly where you find peak torque for most naturally aspirated engines, higher power delivery curve also starts from there and it becomes more capable the higher the revs until about 6200 rpm, you basically backed off right when it was starting to feel alive😂. Amazing that someone has to explain that. Used to be common sense just 10 years ago when most cars were manual without turbos.

May be not every one loves to rev their car at full rpm and i am talking about just to move from robot to Robot you need to push at full rpm !!! And yeah common 10 years ago and i think we moved on with that lot of things chaged since then if you still living in the past time to wake up.
