Found this detailed explanation from the original post: Someone stated the bolt hole in the frame will oval and they are correct, and yes you have to loosen up the exhaust. I ordered a new shoulder bolt and nut. I went to my friendly NAPA store and bugged a friend of mine to find me a bearing with the inside diameter of the out side of the shoulder bolt. The closest he had ws a SKF 276001-2RSR bearing. I drilled the frame bolt out with a 5/8's inch drill bit. I then disassembled the bearing to use the inner race. It is a perfect fit for the shoulder bolt. The 5/8th in drill bit is just a touch small to insert the bearing inner race into so I used a rat tail file and slowly filed it until the bearing just about fit. I put the inner race in the freezer overnight. The next day i insert the race into the hole I had drilled and used a clamp to press it into the hole. I assembled the kickstand a few minutes ago and all the sllp is gone. This is my fix and it worked. I use the sidestand alot. I'm vertically challenged and I need to stand on the front peg andthrow my leg over the seat while the bike is on the side stand. I will figure out how to post a picture or two.

Thank you for this. I recall this fix was explained in an FB group for Silverwings, but I didn't really understand the fix until this video visualized it so well. It looks like the bearing from Napa is $29 and may be a "6001" standard bearing. I'm willing to purchase some cheaper 6001 bearings to check to see if they can be used for the same purpose.

Glad to hear it helped. Hope the bearing substitution works for you.

Interesting fix. Part of the problem is that the rubber tip may have worn away or been lost.
