I have been riding for 30 years now and rode so many bikes by now. I never owned a Goldwing before till I got a 2020, new DCT Tour. Boy....o....Boy such an amazing machine. I was never so addicted to a bike like this one. I am 58 and I don't see myself switching to any other bike. A buddy of mine owns a Dyna. He rode mine, a year later, sold his and got a DCT. I ride 100+, at times on large HWY, no traffic, early in the mornings and I swear, it feels as I am doing 50. In Sport Mode, this Goldwing is no longer a wing, its a rocket.

0-60mph in 5.5 and TS 125 is not that fast, when FJR is 2.9 TS 165, R1250RT is 2.6 TS 145. Harleys with few exceptions much slower with lesser handling.

Had a naked 81 GL1100 with cobra pipes that sounded like jet engines when I opened up. My friends with HDs said they thought a corvette was comin up. Man I miss that Thang. Ride fuckin safe man!

@@GBeWinginIt It’s a matter of opinion. I get tired of loud pipes. Use to have a cruiser and they get old. Nice bikes, don’t get me wrong, but on distance work it starts to become a scratch that won’t go away. It just adds to the exhaustion. On short runs, they are fun.

G your Sport mode sounded splendid. I know your juices were flowing. Like a scary scene and you know somethings ready to jump out any moment. Hoo wee! What we weren’t feeling was the slight frame flex and the bottoming out of that suspension on that Dyna. Who knows maybe he had upgraded to Legends or Ohlins. 😂 The difference between a Dodge mopar and a silky smooth Lexus F. The soft vortex of the flat six exotica just singing alto soprano. 😎 The VTwin and it’s cam lope, is alluring. So classic and beastly, after awhile just grates on me til I’m punch drunk. 🤪 But then you realize the performance parameters of the Wing really has no equal in class out there. Unless a K1600 motor. Just different. It just bangs. All with aplomb. Nice parting shot too. Well done. Ride safe and ride often. Representing as always G.

Cool video you either get the Wing DCT or you don't. I have a Candy Red '18 bagger and hated the DCT at first. Now I'm fully on board. I think I've reached for the clutch once or twice in 5 years though I constantly try to thumb the non existent cruise on my other bikes. I mostly hit backroads with lots of elevation changes and float like a magic carpet until it's time for the interstate ride home. At that point it's Sport Manual mode where I just leave her in 7th while playing freeway roulette with the trucks and cagers. Nothing quite like it.

And I don’t mean that Dual bending valve junk Honda ahem I meant Showa whose owned and operated by Honda puts on Harley touring bikes either. Btw Honda was putting that same setup on their bikes for decades and it worked better because they weren’t limited by the frame. I got stories to tell but want my Harley damn it! 😂

Typical Honda rider. Two guys in a conversation. Harley guy says ya I got a 2007 road king. Honda guys go right into Well I dont want a Harley because Hondas are so fast and better and this and that.....Like you guys always are embarrassed of what your riding and trying to justify why you bought it, by cutting down other bikes....in most cases Harleys. Nice. Twenty odd years ago, I had an FJR 1300 and then I got an auto Scooter for commuting, to spare my real bike. The quickest Scooter was a Gilera Runner 180cc 2 stroke. It was peppy, then I found out you could double it's horsepower with a big carb, expansion chamber and trick CVT. So, that's what I did. It had 50hp and weighed 100kgs. It was quick. One day a Harley Dyna dude at the lights, laughed and said, 'Get yourself a Real Bike'. Well, his real bike was beaten by a bloody Scooter in a drag race! The poor bastard was probably suicidal! I guess the moral of the story is, Don't be an arsehole and don't assume anything! Ride On.

I liked the goldwing until i rode one at low speed. It may be a good touring bike but no comparison to an HD soft tail at low speed. To be fair, that was an old dyna no windshield. Had that been a new Road Glide, you wouldn't have went by him like that.

Sir nobody has will ever answer. What's top end on the new goldwing. I have 17 it pulls good till about 127 and it will still slowly climb a little more. Not sure if that's it or speed limited. Do the 18s and up have a limiter. And the 127 is by the speedometer, so actually speed is probably slower. Those pipes do sound good, but on a long trip your ready for them to get quiet. Thank you

I can appreciate the beauty and rawness of a Harley but the overall function I feel is just not there for long trips or weaving in and out at low speeds. The Goldwing is a samurai sword, and the Harley is a machete. But hey to each his own.

I don't even ride a DCT. I commute 40 miles each way on an older GL1800, but I usually set the cruise before overtaking a Harley, pretend that I'm adjusting my helmet or something with my right hand, just to show that I'm just "cruising". Hahaha.
