Meeting first thing in town, forecast to rain, decide to take the Grom, she is a very good commuter, give it an extra 5 BHP and she would be perfect.
Lots of info, pictures, etc.. on my website, Facebook, Instagram & Twitter:

I agree, I wish Honda would bring out a 150 or 175cc version, this it would be the perfect commuter. It is also good for poorer parts of the world with poor roads as it has maneuverability to ride around potholes and obstacles. And of course the fuel efficiency is excellent.

Your comment has lasted for 7 years and I confirm now it has become true. Especially in Asia, 150cc are common and better than 125cc in terms of performance.

@@yourwifesboyfriend6081 XR150 is just a quite a little bit of bigger bore and bigger wheel of the CRF125F. Just get an XR190L and it is better anyway.

Dang it, RJ makes it look so easy to surf among the heavy traffic in those tight streets. The streets in my country are wider but shorter so it's a hassle trying to pass a couple of cars just so you have to slow down right after to watch out for incoming traffic around the corner

That's UK's Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring for ya. Pretty much all year round. Island climate sucks. Even though I live in the Netherlands, the city I live in is technically an island too. It's surroundes by rivers on all sides. And even here we have to deal with a partial island climate. It can be raining all around the island but be dry and sunny on the island and vice versa. Sometimes it's a blessing, sometimes it's a curse. But whatever we do, we never trust the weather reports here.

I've been watching how you use the clutch. I notice when you change gear you tap the clutch slightly, it doesn't seem like enough to fully disengage the clutch? Whats the reason? Maybe your biting point is just far out.
@Synccrecz
@Synccrecz 8 жыл бұрын
I don't think he engages the clutch at all. It seems like he's using a technique called clutchless gearing, basically you release the throttle for a really short amount of time, and simultaneously you place your foot under the gearpedal and give it SMALL tap upwards, as soon as the gear is changed, you can go full throttle again. Really nice for 125cc where you don't have a lot of power on tap and you don't wanna loose it while gearing, the acceleration is way better in my experience. As long as you do it right it has no impact on the gears or clutch.
@LxBsly
@LxBsly 8 жыл бұрын
+Sync crecz I understand clutch less up shifting. I do it myself sometimes. But if you look carefully, RJ puts some pressure on his clutch but not enough o disengage so that's why I am confused.
@thecombatwombat833
@thecombatwombat833 8 жыл бұрын
hmmm isnt it when you have high revs too ? i know for manual cars is is at a certain limited of revs to change gears clutchless.
@DriftKingNL
@DriftKingNL 8 жыл бұрын
+LxBsly I think he does that little itty bit of clutch to have it disengage long enough to not get a sudden spike of power to the wheel in these wet conditions. In wet weather it's easier to make the wheel lose traction. +The Combat Wombat For manual cars transmissions work very differently. Rev matching is much more important in a car to not mess the gear box up. With bikes you only have a sequential gearbox with neutral between first and 2nd gear. With cars you have neutal between every gear. Unless you have a car with a sequential gear box, but most cars that have that also automatically cut off the acceleration. You can see this in rally cars.

Any bike is a good starter bike, don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. People who say that you should't start on a liter bike are just full of shit. You are the one in control and you can crash with a 125cc or 250cc just as easily. The biggest difference in going with a liter bike for a first bike is that you really need to learn to control yourself more than you need to control the bike. If you feel that you wouldn't have the discipline to control your speed on a fast bike, don't get a fast bike, because then you will end up in a gutter. As for people willing to reply negatively on this, just think about the amount of people in the U.S. alone that started on big heavy powerfull bikes like Harleys.
