Thanks, man! I paid my shop $140 to do a carb on my old Honda because it was busy. Just ordered the parts in the description because it'll cost me less in gas and take less time to swap them out than driving two round trips to the dealer a few towns away. Lesson learned!

Hindsight is 20/20. It started and ran, so who would think to look further? I'm glad it was a super easy fix for ya. It ain't always that way. Had it been more complex, you might have had to charge for a different repair. Things wear out over time and they don't usually all go bad at the same time. Nice one, Steve. I wouldn't have used the heat shrink, either, the old piece or new. It bends out of the wat perfectly now. Your fuel line may be more flexible than OEM. too.

Steve, great video. I like to watch your vids! However, I gotta tell ya, you will never hydro lock a lawn mower engine. I'm 81 yrs old and have worked on a lot of car and lawn mower engines. Hydrolock is what happens when head or intake manifold gasket blows and water/coolant ("hyro") gets in the cylinder so the lessening of the cylinder space between the piston and the head is such that the piston cannot travel towards the head and is thus, "locked". It's "locked" by water in the cylinder and thus is "hydrolocked". In a waterless air cooled mower engine it may be locked by oil or gas but not "hydro". I had a Buick with the 3800 V6 engine that blew an intake manifold gasket (they were prone to do that). I was away from home and had it towed to a garage. When I went back to get it I was told the starter was bad....and, it was, after the mechanic continued to try to get the motor to turn over; it was hydrolocked and he burned up my starter!

I call it being Married to the equipment when I get a returned repair job. I get mabe one every few years but when I do, I usually go through everything twice after the fix. Replacing fuel line seems to be one of the most common thing on all small engines next to carburetor replacement. I have run across many weed wackers and small engines with bad fuel lines and the vent in the fuel tank stuck shut and gummy, causing the tank to pressurize.
