DO NOT screw the dip stick in to check the oil. Just dip it in and check

The dip stick is just pointless….the oil should sit at the very top of the hole at the point where it almost spills out! Use your eyes don’t even think about using the dip stick as a gauge

@@johnauld0 You are correct about that. Coming from Honda its not effective

Hi!!! I don't mean to be a wise guy. But, I've found very few " Machines" have a drain hole exactly where it should be!!! If your wife will give you a small piece of waxed paper from the kitchen, you can kinda make a " half funnel" so the drain oil goes EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT IT TO!!! WALA!!! NO MESS TO CLEAN UP!!! I'M AN OLD MECHANIC, WORKED ON PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING FROM GO-KARTS TO LOCOMOTIVE ENGINES!!! YA LEARN A LOTTA SHORT CUTS IN 40 YRS!! KEEP UP THE NICE VIDEOS!! JUST THOUGHT I'D SHARE A "TIP" MY FRIEND!! A.W 👍🤪

I know I was thinking about the holes not lining up with the drain plug. Quality control or design is off. On my generator also has the same issue. Thanks for the wax paper idea.

SIMPSON!! That explains why the crankcase drain-plug is not properly aligned with the drain hole AS IT SHOULD BE! This is the kind of very poor quality control that kept me from buying a Simpson unit to begin with!

They all stink. My pressure pro belt driven unit kicks back on start up like a mule. I adjusted the intake and exhaust valves- made the issue better but not totally gone.

@@Samlol23_drrich My brand new 4000PSI 4GAL per minute belt driven pressure washer w/Cat pump & Honda GX390 engine gave me fits to get it started! Knowing that Honda gas engines are legendary in terms of how easily they start ... I was besides myself when it took me 15 or 20 mins of yanking on that pull-rope ... and having the damn thing kicking back like a mule before it would start! I actually started thinking that perhaps the "Honda" engine I thought I HAD ON MY UNIT WAS A COUNTERFEIT! I desperately googled the problem I was having starting my Honda. I was given the suggestion that I simply keep the trigger pulled on the pressure gun as I pulled the start rope on the engine. I was told this would relieve the water pressure in the pump as I pulled the rope and would allow the engine to more easily start. OMG ... THE ENGINE EASILY STARTED AFTER ONLY 2 PULLS ... HOORAY!

@@conradb7200 awesome. Is it a pressure pro? Sounds like exactly the same setup I have and yes I always squeeze the trigger when I'm starting it. Honda is supposed to be the best but I've had issues with this as well as my eu2000 generator starting

@@Samlol23_drrich Yes, mine is also a Pressure Pro. I bought mine just over a year ago and used it maybe a total of 2 hrs if even that back then. A year later which is NOW ... and is when I started using it again ... and is when the starting problems started. I forgot to mention, I noticed there was more oil in the pump than there should have been. I don't know much about these things ... and only realized it when I checked the sight glass and could see no oil level ... making me think perhaps there was no oil in the pump at all. I removed the red oil-fill cap on top and stuck a long needle-nosed turkey baster deep into the pump and was able to draw out several oz's of oil ... only then, did I see the oil Leven in the site glass. Meaning there was way too much oil in the pump to begin with. I have no idea if the oil situation was a contributing factor to the hard starting this year, but between that and holding the trigger while pulling the crank cord ... the hard starting situation vanished. I'm sure you're more experienced than I am with this unit ... but if you turned on your water first, and then pressed the trigger expelling the air from the line until pure water flowed thru and then cranking at the same time (assuming your oil level in the pump was ok) I cannot understand why you are having the problem. You might want to pull the belt from the pump, isolating the Engine from the pump ... and see if the engine starts like it should. That might suggest your problem is in the pump and not in the engine!

@@Samlol23_drrich Make sure that you have your trigger pulled as you pull the starter cord. There is automatic decompression through a centrifugal device on the camshaft. This can fail in rare cases, but the usual cause of excessive force and kickback is high pressure water trapped in the pump.
