Thank you very much, for your video my 2017 HRV is making a sound similar to this HRV I hope it's the idler pulley on my HVR too.

Might be tensioner as well.

How much does this service typically cost at a shop?

Surprised, it sounded like the tensioner noise, but maybe the belt was stretched causing the tensioner to be at its max limit and bottom out the hydraulic "shock".

Does the bolt loosen counter clockwise

One of them does, I mentioned it in the video at some point. Sorry, I don’t recall at the moment.

Was it any different when a/c was on? How many miles? My is doing it with a/c on.
@ijfim2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if mileage, but when your AC is on, it is placing a larger load on the serpentine belt tensioner and idler pulleys. I would change these two pulleys before committing to any AC work. Cheaper if it fixes your problem.

what's the torque on the bolt?
@ijfim2 жыл бұрын
Some sources say 19ftlbs, but I said snug, then 1/8 more turn. Should stay tight due to the motion of the belt in the tightening direction.

Should be better to change also the belt tensioner when changing the serpentine belt or not really necessary is this diagram also same as 2020 model year

Might have been, but the vehicle was a 2017, so I suspect it is still good.
